Re: The Sam Howell Thread

Howell ain’t a backup .. you guys do realize we picked Young with number 2 overall pick … how’s that working out ??
How many can’t miss QBs are huge flops .. a lot
Let’s see Cousins was a mid-late rounder and he was the best we had in a while … until now …Sam in my opinion is the QB !! Let’s get him help like a Oline and a TE … I’m tired of this team moving on from our best players ..why not trade Sam now .. we can get number one for him .. I’ll bet minny would do that !! My point is we got a young Qb that has had some struggles but he is growing and I believe will be a starter for a long time ..

Teams are allowed to have 2 of the top 32 QBs in the league. There isn't any rule where every team gets 1 of them. I'm not passing on Maye if he's available. And I really like Howell. We can have both for 2 years if that's what is needed.

Unless Sam flops big time over the rest of this year's games, I am absolutely rolling with him next year. I'm not sniffing a QB in the first round. Sam has had his bad moments, but considering the position he has been put in most of the year, I'm not sure how you could have a negative opinion about him after 9 total games in the NFL.

Who was the last "can't miss" QB, Trevor Lawrence? So far Sam has played better than Trevor did through his first 9 games. Give Sam an OL, an OC who isn't trying to lead the league in passing attempts per game, and a defense that isn't trying to lead the league in yards per play, and he could really thrive.

Bro, he had Urban Myers

I would trade SH in a heart beat for Lawrence

LOL, we have Ron Rivera and Eric Bieniemy.

Just sayin', so far Sam has looked better and played better through his first 9 games. Can he sustain that? Maybe...

But with how he is playing, I'm of the opinion that we shouldn't - and we don't have the luxury to - roll the dice on a 1st round QB with all the other needs. What we need to do is add a couple more picks and use half the draft on the O-line, and the other half on the back 7 of the defense.

i am not going argue that RR and EB suck but Myers was a whole different level of suck.

Re: The Sam Howell Thread

Every position has top 10 picks that flop. They just don't get the same attention.

Not drafting a QB because he might flop isn't the best strategy imo.

You can like 1 player, and still take another 1 if you can get him. Drafting Maye doesn't take away from Howell.

It would take away from the desperate need to draft potentially great OL tho.

This team needs a lot of help but OL is a big priority

Re: The Sam Howell Thread

Draft Maye so we can do this all again next year most likely lead the league in sacks again and torture another young qb.

That just doesn't interest me and further to that I think Sam is going to be really good. Time will tell but thats where I'm seeing him go

Re: The Sam Howell Thread

Based on stats alone, Howell has easily outplayed:

Mac Jones
Tranny Dymes
Tannahill
Jordan Love
Russ Wilson
Kenny Pickett
Justin Fields
Deshuan Watson
Jimmy G

He has been better than these guys

that is a weak list, i wouldn't want any of them sans Watson if he wasn't a sex offender and his contract

Ok, check Patrick Mahomes stats, almost the same. Patrick has 2 more TD’s and 112 more passing yards.

Probably doesn't mean much since teammates are supposed to say things like this but Allen has declared that Howell is our franchise QB.
