Start John Beck Madness Thread

I don't think Shanny should yank Rex, I just wanted to get the silly thread going and out of the way.

I agree. If the Ram defender could catch they would've had a pick 6. He just doesn't take care of the ball. I've seen enough of the guy. He's a nice back up but nothing more. Now with the bye they have two weeks to get Beck ready. Make the move.

Rex was responsible for one pick. All I want out of Rex is a game manager, but I don't think that KS' play calling is helping with that.

And what happens when we get Beck? We get another game manager.

At some point your QB has to be able to make plays and Rex can't consistently do so. We're not good enough for him to be a game manager. At least Beck can get out on the edge w/ his mobility and has the bigger arm. The bigger upside is w/ Beck.

I think you are giving Beck too much credit.

I completely agree. Beck has been in the league awhile hasnt done anything but prove he's not a starting QB. For all the legitimate concerns about Rex the bottom line is Beck, when given the chance, couldnt beat him out.

Pretty hard to bench your QB when you're 3-1, that's all I'm saying.

I don't think Rex is that reason though. I think it's our running game and our defense keeping us in the game.

Rexy is far more lucky than good.

So if we're 3-1, then what's the justification for bringing in Beck?

Because fans love to blame just players and not criticize coaches.

Because he can't be any worse than Rexy.

I mean honestly, both of these guys aren't starting material. It's not like going from Brady to JaMarcus Russell or anything. It's not gonna be a huge drop off.

Re: Start John Beck Madness Thread

First INT wasn't his fault and the second was a timing route and the LB made an amazing play. I am less confident in Kyle Shanahan than I am Rex.

The justification is his bone headed plays, and the team winning in spite of him doing everything possible to ensure that we lose the game. The guy is also getting very lucky, as in having numerous picks dropped in both the Arizona game and this one.

The guy just doesnt have it. Not what it takes to be a week in, week out winner in this league. Just imagine what this team would be capable of if the squad had a sound decision maker at quarterback...... I'm not even saying an all-pro!!! Just someone who doesnt fumble, throw directly to the other team, make boneheaded decisions.....etc...

Exactly -- every week its the same old BS quotes. "Yeah, I need to just go out and play" or something to that effect. Dude, if this is you just going out and playing, STOP!!! and think before you throw the ball. You can't hang on to the ball when you get hit, make really bad decisions in pivotal moments, and putting the ball in your hands in 3rd down is a guaranteed turnover (on downs or of the ball).
