The thing was, if we really weren't considering keeping them, the cheapest way to separate from the contract would have been to not restructure at all, i.e. what we did with Moss. Randle El and Carter and Samuels...I expect them to pick up the options on all of them. If I had to guess one guy who is least likely to be here in 2010, I say Carter, if only because Orakpo should have his role in the defense by then.

2010 better be uncapped or we are SCREWED. The defense will be Haynesworth, hall, orakpo and the draft picks. Although Brennan and Chase Daniels may be the Qbs! ha ha ha |

The league should be afraid of a uncapped year 2010. That would make the Redskins and Cowboys the Yawkees and BoSox of football.

Do we have the cap space to cut Jansen if he looses out to someone?

Re: Current Redskins Salary Cap Status - 2009
Release fee for Jansen is a little over $6 million. I don't think we have that space or would want to cut him rather than just leave him on the bench. I think I saw an article saying we had around $5 million in space before the draft, after signing H. Smith and Orakpo and the draft guys I don't see it even with an extra million. Maybe a little more room to pick up a Khary Campbell type.

Re: Current Redskins Salary Cap Status - 2009
I know a little about our cap situation, but a lot of my numbers are estimates, and I'm sure there are people that are more up to date than me. I think right now we have about 2 or 3 million in cap space. We had $5 million, then this one million added gives us $6 million, Hunter Smith is probably around $1 million, the rookies will probably be about $3 or $4 million. So that leaves maybe $2 or $3 million when you think about players dropping out of the top 51. Again all estimates on numbers I've seen in various places.
