Re: Jayden Daniels - Commanders QB Thread
very true . . . he definitely needs to learn to not put his arm down first like that . . . just keep the ball tucked and go down on your back . . . I did that twice, both times playing basketball . . . dislocated my wrist in 8th grade, and elbow when i was 21 just screwing around

Re: Jayden Daniels - Commanders QB Thread
I'm not quite ready to call JD injury prone. Way too early in his career. But they have got to learn how to manage him better. Down 30 in the 4th q I don't see the need for him to be out there. But I'm also tired of all the running. This isn't college. They do it w/ Mariota too. Part of it is on the QB'S but also there are too many designed runs. I'm out on Kliff's offense. I hate it.

Re: Jayden Daniels - Commanders QB Thread
Fellas, his injuries have been due to contact.
The offense, style of play and strategy has to change period.

Re: Jayden Daniels - Commanders QB Thread
Kurt Warner
@kurt13warner Was just finishing up my tape for week with the Commanders & it is really amazing the difference in JDaniels in year 2! We often talk about sophomore slumps & they can definitely be real with teams having a better idea of how to stop you or your O & forcing you beyond your #1 more and more often. The hard part is it just doesn’t seem like JD is seeing the field like he did last year… holding ball… seemingly looking & not throwing to open #1 read… struggling to work through reads! Another example of this game being tough & guys on the other side get paid also… but it’s a bummer bc he was so incredible last season!

Re: Jayden Daniels - Commanders QB Thread
Maybe having no WRs and missing a bunch of reps in practice and games due to injuries has something to do with it? Plus likely playing at less than 100% when on the field.

Every QB misses stuff. He was under pressure on 55% of his drop backs. Pass pro sucked, guys consistently weren’t open, no running game, but Warner wants to go with the sophomore slump narrative. I hate shit like this. |

Re: Jayden Daniels - Commanders QB Thread
Jayden Daniels is the best thing that has happened to this franchise since Joe Gibbs.
Yes, he needs to get better at avoiding contact. Also yes, we can definitely win a Super Bowl with him as our QB with a good supporting cast. Just put Jayden and Terry on the season ending list, and try again next year. We are very likely to be picking Top 10 next draft. Impact player or trade-down (I prefer a trade-down this year, but wouldn't be upset with adding a Top-10 player).

We made it to the NFC Championship with Jayden. He had this same (basic) supporting cast, but they were healthy. Don't risk injury to any of our important pieces (Jayden, Terry, etc.). If someone is vital to next year and they get banged up, sit em' down. Let the young players sink or swim. They will either grow or show they don't fit, and they will get us a better draft pick along they way. And resign Deebo if we can for a reasonable rate. The fit was right, but Deebo can't be option 1. Next year, concentrate on getting younger. No more band-aids in their 30s. And stop hating on Terry. Everyone's reactions to his injuries are proof he made the right decision for himself. If he has signed immediately for whatever the team offered, everyone would still be turning on him for being injured. Terry has been a great player and a great teammate. When we got rid of Snyder, we hopefully solved the toxic ownership problem. Now if we could work on the toxic fan problem, maybe we could get back to being as fun to follow as we were in the 90's. |

JD5 is not the problem -- indeed, he's managed to mask problems elsewhere. Obviously, he cannot do that while injured. I hope the man has a speedy and full recovery, with the latter being more important than the former.

Re: Jayden Daniels - Commanders QB Thread
What I saw last game was a guy trying to put on a cape and do it all by himself. Some of Warner's stuff is on point. Was JD dropping his eyes and not cutting it loose? Yes. He's still learning how to be a great QB.
He and Kliff need to get back into the lab this off season. JD will be fine. He's far from a finished product and perhaps our expectations were too high coming off the success of last year. But if JD is healthy and can play the last few weeks of the season, he should get out there and play. |
