Re: Our next coach??

Zorn has to go, he doesnt have enough clout to manage the relationship with Snyder and Vinny.

im basically saying this because I don't like shanahan. he only accomplished what he did because of davis and elway. Broncos were good at best in his tenure otherwise.
Yeah your crazy, a guy who was recently running bingo games came in and instantly got our offense clicking. The fact is Zorn was never meant to be the HC and shouldnt have gotten the job.

I don't think there is a lot on his resume that screams "He is the guy to fix this team". He basically took an already successful team and pushed them over the top for a few years by adding a good RB. Once that formula dried up due to age he didn't duplicate it. It was downhill from there.
No, he didn't pick Elway, but Elway couldn't win without Shanahan after three tries in the Super Bowl. He took a successful team that couldn't win the big game, then proceeded to win the big game. It would also be quite a stretch to say that was all due to Kubiak and Alex Gibbs.

As I've said, the worst you could say is that he fell into the middle of the pack in his last few years. Maybe things got a bit stale in Denver, perhaps he got a little too comfortable there. But it's amazing how finishing up with a 9-7, 7-9, and 8-8 record after collecting two Lombardi trophies can turn a man into garbage in the eyes of some.

Re: Our next coach??

I think I have a bigger concern with Shanahan managing the personnel. I mean as Redskins fans we get upset that Cerrato chose to address the offensive line problem with retreads like Mike Williams and Derrick Dockery and Levi Jones. But in Denver the defensive line was a major problem and the solution was retreads like Dan Wilkinson and Leon Lett or draft busts like Gerard Warren and Courtney Brown, so is that much better?

As a coach, Shanahan is fine...though some say he's overrated.

I don't see Shanahan as garbage - he did win the big dance - but I don't see him as our answer, either.

Call me crazy- I think we should fire Zorn and all the rest of the coach's. Forget about Shanahan. Throw the world at Marty Schottenheimer to take the GM/HCing job for 2-3 yrs and give the OC job to his son Brian Schotteheimer. Then after 2-3 yrs Marty can be GM and son can be HC. I'll give you guys Jerry Gray for the defensive side of the ball.

I'm basically saying this because I don't like Zorn or Shanahan. Shanahan does not strike me as the hard nosed type HC we need. Zorn definitly is not the hard nosed HC. Zorn is not a good HC. His motivational skill are lacking "stay medium." WTF? Hell no get f-ing excited. Show some emotion. Pound the ball. ???

you are not crazy, i still will never understand why we got rid of marty, he is what we need right now a strict hard nose old school coach with know how, but even snyder might not have enough money to make up with marty

So are you officially a Shanahan advocate now?

Re: Our next coach??

Unfortunately, martys almost 70 and has recently said he has no desire to be a GM, let alone a hc, so there's no way he returns here or anywhere else.

I can see Marty returning to the NFL, but really only in a front office role

I'd love it if he came here with Cowher as GM. Gibbs as president. Marty as GM. Cowher as HC. Weiss as OC. I'm sure Snyder wouldn't mind dropping 20MM a year for that setup.

I think we all realize that. The only question is whether Snyder does or not. I guess we'll find out in 5 weeks. I've never been so excited for a season to be over before.

Without a doubt. He'd be my first choice. Behind him, probably Mike Holmgren, Marty (though that won't happen). Second tier guys for me would be Fassel, Mariucci, Gruden, Dungy. On my "Hell No" list is Bill Cowher and Russ Grimm.

What about you?
