Guess any DL help will come in the form of rookie free agents!

Anyone else sniffing a Samuels trade? Stockpiling OT's says to me we are either going to trade them (unlikely) or are considering the possibility of losing Samuels. A DE available somewhere by any chance?

We def. are going to lose Samuels in my opnion, these two picks are evidence of that. Synder has screwed our cap and where not gonna be able to absorbe samuels cap hit after this year, and i don't think we'll have the cash to extend his contract. Way to go danny boy
Could be get a GM please. |

They dont have to indicate that Samuels is going to be gone. Fiore is most likely gone, so we needed some depth on the line. And in the event that Sameuls does leave next year it will help to have some olinemen that learned under Samuels and Bugel for a year.I think Samuels will end up having a good year this year and will rework his contract. He'll get like an 8 year deal and a 15-20 millino dollar signing bonus to spread out the deal.

Gotta sy the O linemen are supprising but both look to have or be able to develop the physical skills needed to at least be decent depth especially the the opportunity to work with bugel in the next couple years

I think drafting the O-linemen was purely a depth move. The only decent backup tackle on the roster is Brandon Winey. The other guys, Pita Elisara, Kenyatta Jones and Darryl Terrell, certainly aren't a lock to make the final roster. Bugel and Gibbs are going to look to shore up the depth at O-line, and these two rookies have the potential to be very good linemen. You can never have too many O-linemen going into training camp, that's for sure.
Samuels does have some very large cap figures, but the Skins can afford to carry him on this year's cap, and he's willing to restructure for 2005 and beyond. As far as having the cash to extend his contract-- are you kidding? Plus, the cap is projected to be considerably higher in 2005 and beyond, due to the upcoming TV contract negotiations, so the Skins' cap situation could be improved tremendously. |

Here's an interesting little item from CBSSportline (it's after the SD/Manning)...
http://www.sportsline.com/nfl/story/7281284 Apparently, 72 hours ago Gibbs was sold on Winslow, but Gregg Williams kept hammering away at Gibbs to get Taylor until Gibbs finally relented. "His sell job was so good that his fellow coaches joked ... that they began calling the coach "Counselor Williams" for his lawyerly sales pitch." Thanks Coach Williams!

I think we got a steal in Gregg Williams. I like everything he's done or had to say so far.

And.. it's finally over.
The Raiders picked Mr. Irrelevant this year, Andre Summersell from Colorado State. http://www.nfl.com/draft/profiles/andre_sommersell I'm ready for the season to start now!

Now it's undrafted free agent time. This part is better than the last three rounds, if you ask me.
Last year, we got Sultan McCullough, Chris Clemons, Kevin Ware, and - oh yeah - ADE JIMOH!

I like the undrafted free agent stuff too... every team is going nuts right about now.
Here's who is left on the DLine.. http://www.nfl.com/draft/drafttracker/position/DT http://www.nfl.com/draft/drafttracker/position/DE
