Re: Jay Gruden hired as head coach of the Redskins

Schefter just shut up:

Redskins say interviews with Roman and Fangio weren’t scheduled | ProFootballTalk

It’s possible that there was a misunderstanding. It’s also possible that someone who currently works for the Redskins — or who until very recently worked for the Redskins — embellished, exaggerated, and/or fabricated the snafu, out of disgruntlement.

The latter may be more likely, given that the 49ers told the Washington Post that they have no concerns about the manner in which the situation was handled.

I love how everyone thinks Dalton is a garbage QB. He's made the playoffs every year, improved his numbers every year and threw 30 plus Td's. He's come up short in the big games but he has done a lot of good things as a young QB. At this time he's a more accomplished QB than RG3 is. RG3 has more potential but potential has gotten a lot of people fired in the NFL. Let's hope Gruden can get RG3 to reach his potential.

I do not think that Dalton is garbage. What he has done the last few years has been impressive.

But his skillset is not that of RGIII, making his ceiling much lower. Dalton may be as good now as he will ever be. RGIII has lots of room for growth.

Bengals fans are acting like Hue Jackson is an upgrade for them. Zimmer >>>>>Haslett. Bevell, Quinn, Wisenhunt, Fangio, Roman > Gruden.

Please prove me wrong, skins.

The skins should look back to the Redskins of the 80's and build a physical D and OL just the 49ers.

Just like every team that won a playoff game this year. There was a stat where the team that was able to run the ball won the game. The line of scrimmage is where games are still won.

Better Coordinators. Yes. Good Coordinators do not always make the best head coaches. And Good Coaches a lot of the time are mediocre coordinators.

true Zimmer is a better coordinator I don't think he's a better head coach candidate.

here's hoping the skins see qualities in Gruden you don't see just from the cordinator side of things.

For the people that voted that Gruden was a bad hire, can they suggest who they would've rather the Skins hire and why?

Just cuz I'm curious.

I don't think there was a bad hire considering what we just went through

Well they could have hired Hue Jackson off that same staff. Jackson is more qualified and had the Raiders playing good football. However Jackson might do and say things that may not go along with the program. The NFL will always be the good ole boy network.

I like the hire, I just don't love it. There were better choices out there. There are already signs of cronyism.

[QUOTE=DynamiteRave;1055219]For the people that voted that Gruden was a bad hire, can they suggest who they would've rather the Skins hire and why? ]Bevell has gotten the most out of Russell Wilson. Quinn runs a good 4-3 with multiple fronts. Whisenhunt's done good things with rivers and kurt warner. those are my top 3 I'd rather have than Gruden.

I'd trust Schefter before I would Tony Wyllie. If it is true, it's bush league.

ps. if you are implying somehow Shanny fed him this info, how in the fuck would he know who they were interviewing for HIS old job?
