Re: Around the NFL 2022: Offseason edition
Looks like Josh McD won't be running off this QB out of town like the last time he was in charge of a team:
@RapSheet The #Raiders and star QB Derek Carr have agreed to terms on a 3-year contract extension worth $121.5M, source said. The agreement ties Carr to Las Vegas through the 2025 season. He is already the longest tenured QB in the AFC. Also, does this mean that Jimmy G's market is dead in the water? Are the 49ers really going to keep him?

Re: Around the NFL 2022: Offseason edition
The #Raiders and QB Derek Carr have reached agreement on a 3-year, $121.5M extension, per
@RapSheet . That comes in at $40.5M per year in new money. He's now locked in for the foreseeable future -- along with his buddy Davante Adams. Big offseason in Vegas. Carr making 40M a year makes Carson Wentz's deal cheap as fuck

Also Derek Carr isn't any better than Wentz, in fact I'd argue that Wentz has the better future.

Re: Around the NFL 2022: Offseason edition
It's not a good look. In hindsight, they should have parted ways with Jimmy G after that draft, but then again, maybe they have seen enough in practice to know they may have made a mistake - a big one at that.

Re: Around the NFL 2022: Offseason edition
Yes, but they could have at least gotten more draft capital then. Now they have a young QB that may not work out, a vet QB with a busted shoulder, and another season of wasting your top flight defense.

Re: Around the NFL 2022: Offseason edition
John Lynch said last week that "Aaron Rodgers sat 4 years" yeah but they also had Brett Favre , Rodgers was good enough to play , it looks like Lance will be used for trick plays in his 2nd year again... This is why the draft is such a crap shoot, If you land a Herbert or Allen you better thank your lucky stars.

Re: Around the NFL 2022: Offseason edition
The same media people that are getting on Washington's case for the Wentz trade would be all over us if we were in this situation with TH:
@evansilva Also, just a few QBs currently topping depth charts around the league: Drew Lock Marcus Mariota Sam Darnold Mitch Trubisky The NFL has a QB shortage.

I agree he makes bad plays and we will hate those but he's better than a lot of starters in the league

9ers have a good roster, good team. I think the see themselves as inside the SB run window.
If you think you have a SB worthy roster, youd be wise to carry 2 competent QBs if cap allows. |

https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/...fatal-shooting
Sources: Police seek to speak with Dallas Cowboys' Kelvin Joseph in connection to fatal shooting In video footage obtained by KDFW-TV in Dallas, one of those involved in the altercation was wearing a YKDV necklace. Joseph goes by the rap name "YKDV Bossman Fat." Jfc…great rap name too.

It's one thing to say Wentz is better than Taylor. Ok we know that, but that's really not saying a lot. It's another to say he is better than and has a better future than Carr. I don't get that stance at all. How does Wentz have a better future than Carr? The Raiders have arguably the best wr and when healthy arguably the best TE in football. They'll probably have a better scheme and a more stable situation. Wentz could not have come to a worse situation if you ask me. He could have all new coaches if he makes it to 2023. |
