Re: Remainder of the season: Conservative Predictions

Oct. 30 @ Giants: Win
Nov. 6 vs. Eagles: Win
Nov. 13 @ Buccaneers: Win
Nov. 20 vs. Raiders: Win
Nov. 27 vs. Chargers: Win
Dec. 4 @ Rams: Win
Dec. 11 @ Cardinals: Win
Dec. 18 vs. Cowboys: Win
Dec. 24 vs. Giants: Win
Jan. 1 @ Eagles; Win

My honest accessment, This game was a major confidence booster and I honestly think we can go without losing, if we don't have any major injuries. A confident redskins team is very hard to beat, and I think this year we are proving that we will not lose at home!

The way the NFC is working out so far I dont think there's any reason to believe someone won't get in with 8 wins.

Re: Remainder of the season: Conservative Predictions

I give us victories against the Raiders, Rams and Cards. We can beat the Eagles and Giants at home, that gives us 9. At Tampa Bay could be difficult, but without Griese we should be able to take advantage of Sims. The Chargers showed that L.T. is human after all and a game in D.C. in late November could be cold and snow, not good for a California Sun team.

I think either the week 16 game against NYG or the week 17 game against PHI can be a win for us. If we are working toward a wildcard at that point, then one of those teams will have locked the east title. We'll be playing against 2nd string, resting Eli or Donovan, Shockey, or T.O. and who knows who actually gets playing time on defense or the rest of the skill positions.

With the way we've played so far, our ability to make the big play, and being able to be in the game till the final whistle, we could win 11 this season and not be a stretch.

We have GOT to get a split in the next two games, and maintain momentum. Remember, the 49ers are a terrible team, so don't get too giddy over this win. We need to prove we can string wins together, and can win on the road.

Re: Remainder of the season: Conservative Predictions

I think we have a chance at the very least a winning record . But our fate really depends on what happens around the NFCE.

The Eagles are squeaking by teams week in week out there is something broken there and I am not sure they know how to fix it but they will have to to regain thier team to beat status . The GMen just got past the Broncos but they were playing them at home not the Bronco fortress that is Mile High . As for the Cowboys they are the team in the bigest state of flux right now. Another killer of a defeat in the dying seconds to a team that is good but not great (the Seahawks) has to hurt. They have shown ability to get past good teams and have on paper enough talent to win, BUT the loss of Adams at LT is going to cause problems on the O line which is going to seriously impact on Bledsoe and in turn the running game.

What would be a killer is if we finish tied in second place with the Giants and a tiebreaker gives them the nod for a wildcard spot which would be particulary gaulling because they were gifted that extra home game against the Saints . Not saying the Saints would have won anywhere else but gives you something to think about .

Re: Remainder of the season: Conservative Predictions

These 2 games coming up are the biggest back to back games of the year. The Skins go 2-0 here and playoffs are almost asured, 2 loses means doubt starts to creep in and I dont think they'll make it. I do believe that the Redskins can win these 2 games. The Eagles' running game has disappeared and is beatable any given week and the Giants just aren't as good as their record shows. Three of their wins were vs the Siants, Cards, and Rams all at home(dispite what the NFL called that Siants fiasco). These are not good teams.

And playing Denver AT HOME. Playing us next week, AT HOME. Are the Giants ever going to play another road game?

Re: Remainder of the season: Conservative Predictions

Mark my words we will beat the shit out of Simms and the Bucs. The only games we have potential to lose are the Chargers and the Eagles in Philly. If we can stay healthy, that is. The Eagles got lucky, as lucky as you can get this week and the Cowboys crushed them last week. The Eagles are done, I'm more worried about the Giants.

Re: Remainder of the season: Conservative Predictions

I know it's not conservative, however, the team is playing balls to the wall right now, and that momentum will carry them. The games that worry me are the away rival games, the Bucs, Chargers, and Rams. The Rams always play well at home, and if Bruce and Holt are healthy...

Oct. 30 @ Giants: Win (5-2)
Nov. 6 vs. Eagles: Win (6-2)
Nov. 13 @ Buccaneers: Win (7-2)
Nov. 20 vs. Raiders: Win (8-2)
Nov. 27 vs. Chargers: Loss (8-3)
Dec. 4 @ Rams: Win (9-3)
Dec. 11 @ Cardinals: Win (10-3)
Dec. 18 vs. Cowboys: Win (11-3)
Dec. 24 vs. Giants: Win (12-3)
Jan. 1 @ Eagles; Loss (12-4)

I see anywhere from 8-8 to 12-4.

If the skins win their next two, you guys will be thinking 13-3, 12-4 and home-field.

So, you are more worried about the Giants and Eagles, but the only games you have potential to lose are the chargers and eagles? That doesnt make much sense.

That's really not saying much. This can be said about any team in the league.

If we win our next two, I'm going start getting very, very excited. Honestly, I'd be happy with a split. Both games are going to be complete dogfights and they are both very, very vital in what happens for the rest of our season.

Depends on how they win. If we blow the midgets and Iggles off the field, then it's certainly possible, although home-field is a stretch.

Not necessarily so. There are teams in the league that can do everything right and still lose. The Redskins are impossible to beat if they don't committ stupid penalities (especially the personal foul variety) and if they don't turn the ball over. The Redskins are tough to beat when they do commit penalites and turnovers. The Giants are in for probably their hardest two games of the season.
