again, campbell's play in the preseason showed two things:
He has talent. He's not ready. He can make the throws, but he can't read the defenses yet. He showed up super early, got his deal done fast and started studying the playbook immediately, even though he didn't have to. He wants to be successful and his actions showed that he's willing to do the work, BUT he hasn't had enough time and he was throwing too many ints in his first action (to no-name dbs). I like what i've seen, but there's no way he'll be able to just come in and immediately win games... we'd have to tank the season for next year like NYG did in 2004. Though Coughlin's move does look like genius now; tanking a possible playoff contender for the future cause he knew they weren't good enough to win it all. |
