Re: Philly postgame week 1
A pleasant day with a win. The defense looked better with a new D coordinator. The offense was surprising in the second half but I will not complain. Haskins may mature into a starting quarterback so I will withhold judgement for a few games. He did look good in the second half. All in all, I am happy with the outcome today. Kerrigan looked much better today, not as tired looking. I was wondering how the defense would get everyone involved. It seemed to work out great as the players did not look as tired at the end of the day. I am looking forward to next weeks game.

Re: Philly postgame week 1
Today's game shows what a difference coaching makes.
Loved RR's 4th and 1 call. CRed and I were talking how, in the past, Gruden would have just gone for a FG to take the lead and then let the opposing team drive the ball down the field for the go ahead TD. RR previously discussed some of the things he learned when he first became a head coach and said that one of his early mistakes was failing to put away teams when he had them down. Now, he said, he tries to make sure he keeps his foot on the other teams throat. Going for it on 4th, instead of taking the easy go ahead FG, was him doing just that. So very different than the last several years (Gruden with the lead: "We are ahead? Cool, everybody take five, imma gonna go get a soda"). We can't spot opposing teams 17 points; I think Arizona's a better team than Philly so next week is going to be a real challenge. For now, however, just gonna enjoy the W.

Re: Philly postgame week 1
Arizona is legit on Offense , they have weapons and Kyler is good but if we can rush the passer like today, we will be in the game

Murray is a stud, however one big hit from one of our DL and he’ll be done.

When was the last time we saw a pass rush like we saw today? That 2nd half was so fun to watch.

Re: Philly postgame week 1
A brand new offensive and defensive system. Young QB and a lot of young and undrafted players on both sides of the ball. No pre season games. Limited practice reps due to COVID.
The first half was what I expected it to be. The o line we knew was an issue. They didn’t give Haskins enough time to step into his throws early on. They had to build some chemistry and some reps on both sides of the ball early. And it showed. But damn if the players and coaches didn’t MAKE. SOME. ADJUSTMENTS. WTF is an adjustment?! I heard about them from fans of other teams but I haven’t seen ‘em on this team in a loooooong time. Bottom line folks, we have a young team with good core players (that we still obviously need to add to in several positions) and some DAMN GOOD coaches. That’s the X factor. In years past, we would have shit the bed in the second half. Sloppy play, guys blaming each other, no discipline. But not today. I can’t tell you how proud I finally am to be a fan of this team. It’s been hard for awhile, but I feel like we have something to build on and make some serious noise in the future. Maybe not this year. But maybe....

Feels good. Competent coaching and real half-time adjustments... Hats off to the coaching staff.

Re: Philly postgame week 1
He seems to be decent pass catching TE... I gotta wait to see him consistently block. In the first half he completely whiffed on an outside run and it woke up the nightmares in my head of having no TE that can block.
Now I'll give him a pass because RR said he didn't know who were the guys who played in the 1st quarter and I agree with him.

RK Young Dline Moreland Moreau Haskins (improving throughout the game, and good leader) Gibson - Wes Martin got embarrassed a couple of times, he's been disappointing so far Scherff didn't have a good game either Geron Christian is not an NFL starting LT Overall our OL came together and did the job but it's not gonna be good enough against better defenses I like that we're playing our base defense a lot, but seeing LBs trying to cover Ertz and Goedert was embarrassing Apke is still taking bad angles, not sure he has good vision for this position Washington WIN ! No points allowed in the second half ! Awoooo !
