So no one thinks Ron will want to keep Norman?

Re: Ron Rivera Thread

An argument can be made to bring Wilks here to rejoin with Ron if he is let go by Cleveland.

I think Norman is gone. He would have to take a huge pay cut.

He would have to pay to stay. He is bad for the team.

He knows his best days are over and it’s time to let him go.

Re: Ron Rivera Thread

I know I seen this earlier, but I can not find the post now. Is anyone else worried about him getting say over the draft. Alex Smith has done a good job running the draft and has found some good young talent. Why do we feel Ron can do better? Will we get a good GM that has no say on the draft?

Am told Rivera would have total control and final say on Draft. Gives time to evaluate scouting staff. ALL this given unless something in meeting tomorrow goes wrong. #redskins @NBCSWashington #httr* #ronrivera

I know you mean Kyle Smith but I kinda agree with your point. Also does this mean Ron is more of the GM in responsibility than whoever gets the title eventually? It remains to be seen how the lineup works. However the pro-coach getting final say over roster argument is that if Ron fails eventually he can't use the "FO wouldn't let me pick my own players" argument Jay Gruden had.

This was in the comments section from this twitter thread:

“ From the @MikeSilver article
"I don't want personnel control," he said. "I just want to be able to pick which 46 are active for game day, and have a collaborative relationship (with a GM)-- and, if there's a conflict, be able at least to go to the owner and state my case."

Re: Ron Rivera Thread

I'm not against the HC having control over the draft. He's the one coaching these guys, I'd much rather have it this way than the football people getting frustrated with the picks being made by someone else... (rings a bell?)

We might be able to do better, but... no back to back winning season but 3 back to back to back division titles, a SB appearance, and 11-5, 12-4 and 15-1 records in a 5 years span. We haven't had a 11+ wins season since 1991. I was 1. So yeah, I'll happily have Ron Rivera coach the Redskins, especially if he's demanding total control. We need someone who's going to stand up to Dan if need be.

I agree, plus he has won two coach of the year awards. His record and what he could do at times was always tied to cam Newton’s health which was up and down all the time.
