I wouldn't be surprised if we drafted Gurley as a one-two punch with Morris in the power running game.

I feel like all the hate on here for him is due to Polumbus sucking for 10 games or so and RG3 having the highest sack rate ever in the history of the NFL.

Doesnt he get credit for making compton a serviceable RT?

credit for Lich transition to center?

Does he get absolutely no consideration for '12 and '13 success?

did he give birth to Polumbus or sign him as our RT?

Is it his fault RG3 drops back 10 steps when the O line play call is for 3 steps?

---------------------

I think Foerster had to be replaced bc of the change in running scheme .. but damn, we are a mean bunch of fans. i think mob mentality is making him a scapegoat to an extent here.

i think he did a great job with the talent he had to work with.
I tend to agree a little....although his lines led to the destruction of our future QB's greatest asset. Yeah, he may be a scapegoat due to the lack of talent on the line....but lets also look at the 3rd round type draft picks that never developed under him too. He got basic functionality out of 2nd stringers, and that is commendable....but he hasn't really developed anyone to a level higher than originally expected...in fact, a couple became worse than expected, as well as free agents....so....it is really hard to tell how good or bad he was. I do expect better from Callahan, especially since they will very likely give him better players. Plus, he will command respect as an ex Head Coach...and coach of one of the best lines in football (I just threw up)

He will also reveal the Cowboys blocking schemes to us....which certainly doesn't hurt.

I really like this hire.

I would expect it will be, but not significantly. Plus this is moving to Gruden's more natural offensive line, in my opinion, and that will help the play calling.

Wait, Your defense of Forester is that he was able to guide us from being a #1 ranked OL for rushing to a #21 ranked OL for rushing? So, we should keep him until we get to below 30 like Haz. ugh.

Our line was good when RG3, or any of the qb's, presented a scheme challenge to the defense. Further, I would be interested to see data that showed where we ranked according to where the RB took his first hit. I feel confident if you take away Morris' ability to gain positive yards, and Griffin's big plays, like the 76 yd run against the Vikings even our 2012 line would have fallen back to middle of the pack.

I'll grant that Forrester had little to work with, but it's on the coach to persuade the OC/HC that he needs different players.

bottomline, Forrester lifted no one above their natural ability, imo, and didn't refuse to keep obviously sub-par players when told to.

I am fan of the hire -- Callahan has done well (and it's interesting to see some fo the players he's worked with over the years, incluidng former Redskin Cory Raymer): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_Ca...rican_football)

Here's a question: how will a guy with his experience mesh with our OC who is very young (and looks like he could deliver the paper in the mornings)? I don't presume tension one way or another, but Callahan is more than 25 years McVay's senior, and tension arising from this kind of situation is not uncommon.

Anyone hear anything about McVay? He's a Shanahan holdover (TE coach) that JJay elevated to OC, if memory serves, and I wonder wither Jay is starting to think makeover for all of the holderover coaches.

Even though he is hurt, you would have to drop an early 2nd on him.

McVay and Gruden have known each other since their UFL and Tampa days.

While Foerster could coach either style, so, too, does Callahan. Dallas used a lot of zone but also gap and power, too. The Redskins did the same. Running back Alfred Morris should fit nicely into what Callahan wants – DeMarco Murray did a lot of plant-and-cuts in Dallas. Gruden likes more power – they used more gap-blocking this season, too, as the Redskins did this year on occasion. My guess is the Redskins want more of that in 2015. In Dallas, the line was not just as much about obstructing guys (as the Redskins had been under Mike Shanahan), it was about moving guys on the go

Seems like Linehan has been the major asset to the Cowboys Offensive staff, not Callihan.

Re: 2015 Redskins Coaches/Coordinators News

good hire. I don't know that he's tons better than the guy we had, but he's a better fit for what gruden wants to do in the running game, and we did take him away from dallas, so that's always nice.

Three words for the power running game: Silas Freakin' Redd.

I like the Callahan hire but I get the feeling he will be our head coach in 2016.

I hope Callahan is able to turn the offensive line into a decent unit right away. If we want any chance at developing RG3 or any young QB, we need to have a good line that can overcome the deficiencies of a developing QB.

Linehan was there 1 year. Their line was built under Callahan, Linehan moreso solved the playcalling issue that Garrett couldn't handle.
