Skins vs. Eagles Post-Game
Quote:
Agreed, all in all really solid game. Only thing that is still killing us is special teams. Can't miss a 30 yard fg and can't give up a 102 yard ko return. Those 10 points cost us the game. Biggest concern is Dhall. Breeland looks good and filled in nicely, but really hope Dhall's injury isn't too bad, Achilles can be brutal. Edit: just caught up on twitter. Guess Dhall thinks he tore his Achilles http://m.espn.go.com/general/blogs/b...bjomhzDn%22%7D Sounds like the season for him.

Re: Skins vs. Eagles Post-Game
Positives:
This team is better than it's record. People forget we are missing Reed, Cofield, Golston (won't count Porter). We will be getting some players back, maybe Thomas and Crawford, Bowen. After Thursday's game they get 10 days to rest before their next game.

Re: Skins vs. Eagles Post-Game
Meh. No matter who's the coach or the QB, this team (franchise) simply finds ways to lose. Doesn't matter if the QB throws for 500 yards, something else will screw up. It's been this way for twenty years and isn't changing now.
This team is 1-2 and people still think they're some juggernaut that's about to break loose. Nope. This isn't college football where a close loss might still give you some points in the standings. This is the NFL and there are no moral victories. Just another bad loss. |

Re: Skins vs. Eagles Post-Game
Word....this is last year, we get torched 88-3
Granted, teams f...d us up and the D could not do some critical stuff(injuries notwithstanding)...BUT HUGE F...n improvement over last year. Much to be excited about. With a couple of exceptions, KC was pleasantly-Lights Out. The core of this team has real promise. GOOD to see HTTR!!

Re: Skins vs. Eagles Post-Game
The same shit that was killing us last year is right back again. Our teams play was atrocious today. You can't give up 100 yard KO returns and miss 33 yards FG's and expect to win on the road. That's 10 points and we couldn't overcome that. Real tough loss today.

Re: Skins vs. Eagles Post-Game
I have pretty much had enough of poor teams play myself...it should NEVER kill a team the way ours has.
Well now that I thank about it, we have tried conventional coaches......Army guy.... Perhaps we need to twist up the heat a bit and hire a Russian mobster for our next teams coach?

Re: Skins vs. Eagles Post-Game
Okay, we didn't get any sacks today, but people just look at stat lines.
We have 9 hurries, and 13 QB hits today. That's pretty damn good. Considering two of Foles throws were IG! Which was never called. I think Haslett did a good job of moving Kerrigan and Orackpo on opposite sides of the field throughout the game to mix it up. I think Breeland looked solid for a rookie and I'm encouraged about how he can force turnovers and be around the ball like Hall. Robinson got beat a few times, but overall he was all over the screen game of Philly and McCoy. Something we haven't seen since Kelly got to Philly I think the gameplan coming in was to stop those two out of the backfield, and force Foles to beat us.. Which, he sorta did... Kelly did a good job of putting Maclin in the slot and moving him around to force mismatches against Merriweather in coverage.

Re: Skins vs. Eagles Post-Game
I said earlier in the week that I wanted them to compete against a good team on the road. They did. We will see them down in Fedex later on. Moving on. Lets take care of business against the Giants on Thursday.

Re: Skins vs. Eagles Post-Game
I'm thinking that:
1) We looked pretty good, but came up short again - special teams and defense kills us again. 2) We should invest high round draft picks on D again - corner (replace hall), safety, Dline. 3) If Cousins keeps this up, we could consider trading RG3 and salvaging something for the 3 first rounders + 2nd rounder.. 4) We should've kept the other kicker, who could freaking kick it out of the end zone and eliminate returns entirely. |

Re: Skins vs. Eagles Post-Game
“We had plenty of chances offensively to do something: We threw a pick, we had the ball at the 40-yard line down three with four chances to get 10 yards and we couldn’t do that,” Gruden said. “Defensively, we missed some assignments again and gave up big plays, and special teams.

Re: Skins vs. Eagles Post-Game
I'm actually pretty happy. Think about the football we've seen in the past seasons? We had one year where we were competitive. ONE! I'm glad just to see us like we can hang, be in games near the end of them.
