Re: Skins v Rams pregame
Things I would like to see from this game are :
More effective running game with both Hightower and Helu. Stop giving up long runs in the second half of the game. Continued pressure from both Orakpo and Kerrigan. A few more shots down the field to AA. Better return game by BB. I think it is time to give Leonard Hankerson a chance to get on the field. |

I think AA was a one hit wonder IMO, he had a out of no where year last season but now he's non-existent. I like Moss and Gaffney but I agree give Hank a shot.. RUN game will be better this week and Rex will be good also

Re: Skins v Rams pregame
I'm very worried about this game. Like it was said earlier in the thread, the Rams have beat us the last two times, and one of those years, the Rams had only won like two games. So, this is going to be a very tough game for the 'skins, mentally.
This team has the talent, but it's the mental toughness I'm waiting to see. I believe that is a major hurdle that the Redskins need to get over. The good, consistent teams are the ones who have the mental toughness and the confidence that they feel they can win every game played. They also show discipline with fewer penalties during games. So, the keys to this game and any other games the Redskins will be playing this year are to play smart, disciplined football. Nine times out of ten, the mental game decides wins and losses.

Re: Skins v Rams pregame
If we lose, we'll see Beck after the bye week. It would be tough to justify a QB change if we are 3-1, but there's a possibility we could still see the change.
This will be a big bounceback game, I suspect. The team should be embarrassed and angry as hell after the way they blew it on Monday. The D played great though, until Dallas' last drive. Landry...oh how we've missed you. We need to get back to running the ball and minimizing Grossman's opportunities to make a mistake. He's great off the play-action, but we overused it on Monday. We did not run enough to make the play-action effective...they knew he was passing whether he faked a hand-off or not. The Rams look BAD right now...their secondary is severely missing Atogwe. Craig Dahl is solid but we should torch the rest of their secondary. Skins 27 Rams 15 (5 FGs)

Yeah I agree, if Rex plays bad and we lose Beck is the guy by game 5

^ Wow...that's bad. Hightower and Helu should both top 80 yards. No excuses.

Really, Beck already? I had hope that our fan base had changed a bit but apparently not...

He was solid in the first 2 weeks. We need him to be consistent. In the Dallas game, old Rex came back in moments, that INT throw to Lee and the fumble at the end. Those kind of mistakes cost games and are why teams were scared to even contact him when he was available. If he cam stay comfortable in the system and play mainly error-free (he's guaranteed for ONE turnover every game, so we need to accept that), then he can keep the job. When he starts reverting to his Jekyll-and-Hyde ways, it's time to see what Beck can do, even if we are winning despite of him like the Bears did. If he's playing smart ball and not making those stupid blunders, keep him in definitely. If he starts to become inconsistent, we need to see if Beck can stabilize the QB position. Keeping Rex in might hold back the team's potential success if he's not exceeding our expectations and his reputation.

Unfortunately Beck made similar mistakes in pre-season. Unfair to Beck and the entire O to try Beck on a short week, so unless Rex plays much better against the Rams, I'm making a change after the Bye.

Personally I dont want to see the change only because Rex is the QB he should see it thru and I'm really sick and tired of the QB issue. But realistically there was a close battle for the QB position and the QB issue still persists if Rex does not perform well Sunday. |
