^fair point on the today media thing 12th, but still her name doesnt belong next to Hendrix, Joplin, Morrison, or Cobain. Sorry it just doesnt, but I continue to hear it. Not close IMO

Any well known artist that dies at 27 is going to get lumped together. In the end it's all about a sad waste of talent and a life.

Re: RIP Amy Winehouse
Whether one is a fan of her music or not is immaterial. Jimi, Janis and others led supremely destructive lives as addicts. It ultimately killed them. Amy may have been the worst with the "so what if it kills me" attitude....and HEY...dumbass, it probably did.
However, by virtue that she was not the only one adds no righteousness to her life or her death. It just makes her stupid to. .......Stupid BTW.....I heard an interview with one of the Skynard guitarists.....maybe Blackfoot about the drug use in bands. In all sincerity he replied it "was not possible to produce the quality of music they did.....sober". Soooo, maybe the price of greatness?
