Why have us give up a 3rd for Brunell? It's not like Haynesworth needs to be in camp to learn the system. If anything the only leverage we have with Haynesworth (as with McNabb) is having other teams becoming nervous about having to compete in the open market.

They should do it.

We get rid of him...and they have possibly the scariest D-line ever, with some moderate risk.

Win-win.

Do we play them next season? I hope not.

Re: Evaluating the Redskins Trade Bait:

For a team badly in need of players, I really don't see who we could trade that would fetch any value more than what the player would mean to us. Our established players are the teams core, our younger players have not [especially those who started for the first time this year] played enough to be able to submit a trade resume. Moss, McIntosh and Rogers are unrestricted, free to sign with any team, it's not likely the team will trade Cooley, one of it's most productive players. Orakpo, Landry and Hall aren't likely to be traded, after these players you have to search deep to find more players with trade value.

Doesn't look like it has much meat to it though.

If Jim Schwartz could be successful in getting Haynesworth to play to the level that earned him two trips to the pro-bowl, he and Suh together would be illegal.

I doubt they'd be stupid enough to give us back out 2nd and [condt] we gave up for McNabb but. anything that would make the saga go away.

I gotta think the Skins would take what they can get, like a 4th or higher. A 5th? Not so sure. I'm sure priority #1 is cutting ties w/ this guy.

Lets get picks for Haynesworth & McNabb. Sick of this drama. I dont blame McNabb, a few games he looked decent but its obvious he doesnt fit with Shanny program either.

So we need to get rid of him and you think other teams don't know that? You don't think other teams realize he's a headcase? Who in their right mind would offer a 4th round pick for a guy they can pretty much guarrantee will be out on the street in a couple months. Sorry, if someone offers us a 5th, we should show AH the door and fall to our knees in gratitude for small miracles.

I hope I am wrong but I don't see us getting more than a 5th and 6th (total) for McNabb and AH. More likely a couple of 6th's or a 6th and 7th.

Well theres the problem. Yes, other teams know that we don't want this guy. So, we can't expect a high return for him. Do i know what that's going to be? No. There's got to be some leverage though. That's why I'm not a GM. Maybe we take a 5th and be happy about it. Maybe a 6th or 7th? Maybe no one offers us anything and we just cut him...

I'm just saying AH is a great player (when he wants to be). He might be worth a 4th rounder for the Lions. It's possible.

Agreed. It's possible and maybe not too far removed from reality. On the other hand, I think the Titans were offering a third during last year's draft when we turned them down. In light of the events siince then, I am supposing that his value has been significantly downgraded by other teams.

Re: Evaluating the Redskins Trade Bait:

Didn't have the heart to give this its own thread so here it is:
Redskins Insider - Bruce Allen: Albert Haynesworth could return to Skins next season

Could be serious or just a last ditch attempt to contain some kind of value and interest in AH.

No Way that happens if Shanny is there

Allen and Snyder's plan:

Trade Shanahan to Detroit for Jim Schwartz. Promote Haslett to HC, install Schwartz as DC.
