Re: James Davis on the Active Roster?
I would cut Simpson and promote Davis before we lose him.

Has Galloway caught anything beyond 20 yet this yr? It seems its all Moss and Armstrong. But in any event I'd get rid of Simpson also and bring up Davis. Then I'd at least cut R.Williams and bring in Sinorece or bring Austin up to see if he provides anything to see if he's worth keeping or not. |

What's the appeal exactly of Sinorice Moss?

Re: James Davis on the Active Roster?
Dude's useless.
I see why he was on the practice squad. What a stinker. We'd be better off picking up a FA.

Re: James Davis on the Active Roster?
Someone positn above wanted to cut Chad Simpson and promote Davis "before we lose him (Davis)".
Might I suggest that neither of those circumstances would be horrible. Cutting Simpson would not change things for the Skins very much.Bill Parcells refers to certain players - - I suspect Simpson and Davis are both in this category - - as JAGs. That means he thinks they are Just A Guy; there is nothing noteworthy about them.

Re: James Davis on the Active Roster?
Yeah, 6 carries really isn't enough to judge him either way. He was a shoe string tackle away from breaking a nice one.

Re: James Davis on the Active Roster?
Fine, I'll be happy to watch Davis in the remaining games - - where he will get lots of chances to show his stuff because he is a lot more healthy than guys who were on the roster ahead of him.
As to the argument that you have to keep someone because other teams are - - or might be - - interested in them, you would hope that would be true of most of the people that you bring to training camp. And since six carries and one game is insufficient to conclude that a running back might just be a "JAG", can someone explain the obverse: How do 6 carries with one "almost big run" - - plus a terrible drop of a pass that hit him in the numbers which seems to have gone unmentioned here - - consititute a reason to think this guy is an important cog in the future of the team? What is the Over/Under for his rushing yards against the Giants this week?

Re: James Davis on the Active Roster?
Nobody is saying he's an important cog for the future, just saying we haven't seen enough to tell either way.

Re: James Davis on the Active Roster?
I was not impressed by Davis at all. I am betting he is, as sportscurmudgeon asserts, he is JAG. At the same time, who knows, I'll give him another game before condemning him to JAG status. Based on his performance, however, I can't see he deserves much more than one more shot at shaking the label.

Re: James Davis on the Active Roster?
And Devin Thomas had a great run after catch in the Broncos game a couple years ago.

Re: James Davis on the Active Roster?
DT had more than 6 touches to prove his worthlessness.
