I love that Shanahan doesn't hesitate to make changes. If something isn't working, he makes a move.

Lets hope. I was wishing that he would get his old number (3) back. I have a 3 jersey that i bought for about 10 buck when George was here. I ripped off George of course. I also have a 17 70th anniversary jersey that had Warfuel name on the back. That i also ripped off. So 17 for the punter would be good.

TJ Duckett was also a move of no hesitation.

He's not riding the bench and contributing?
Not a panic move?
Not a Vinny move?
All of the above?

I was being tounge-in-cheek anyway. Unlike the moron Canadian coach from the wannabe champions in this town, Shanahan's awesome at scrapping plans that don't work, which is awesomely awesome.

Re: Hunter the F-ing Punter is Back!!!

Big fan of Hunter and happy to see him back, wish he'd never left.

But, Bidwell was a great punter when healthy. His career average is solid and he's been very reliable about landing kicks inside the 20. I saw him punting in person in TC and his kicks were a thing of beauty...insanely high and perfect spirals.

We're not downgrading much, if any at all though...as long as Smith can stay consistent...something that dropped off near the end of last year. His last few games were exceptionally ugly, averaged just over 30 yds/punt when prior in the year, he was pushing 50 yds/punt in some games.

He should be well-rested and healthy.

For some reason, we can't keep punters healthy...been a curse for years.

I love it too. Call it what you want.... ego, or someone pissing on his corn flakes but Shanahan clearly is showing he is in charge and is going to fix the problem vs. "staying medium" and letting it all work itself out.

Something about that number feels so familiar. I feel like it's been associated with something other than a punter, but for the life of me I can't figure out why that number used to be relevant.

/sarcasm.
