Injury problems, but on the bright side at least he'll be able to walk when his career's over not to mention he's probably set for life in terms of finances.

Still I wonder why Giff hasn't gone somewhere. Of the guys released he seemed to be the most talented.

Defintley wish them both the best... always liked both of them... actually, its weird because it was an injury, but Thomas getting carted off in 2005 against Dallas when the whole crowd was going nuts for him was one of my favorite Redskin memories.

I agree there. Thomas is an injury waiting to happen (but I'm assuming he'll be a back-up in Miami..and he's a good backup to have). Betts is coming off an ACL and it takes some time for guys to regain their "form" after that...

I really didn't expect Thomas to play again.

You seem to be assuming I made a judgement on your 'if...then' statement, I didn't. I disagreed w/you in saying Bets DID NOT have speed & quickness. He might not have it now, but he did when we last saw him healthy. Who knows now? Not exceptional speed, but he hit holes quickly & got into gear well.

My overall point was; parker and betts might be done, I'd just rather see Betts here competing for a spot.

Actually Thomas shouldn't be playing anymore. He was already a huge risk last year with all those bolts in his neck. He has the money, now it's time to ride off into the sunset while you're still healthy enough to stand on your own two feet.

I guess it turns out he was actually placed on IR, so he's still Dolphins property. But he'll probably be released soon. Not really sure why the Dolphins did that

Saints could bring back Ladell Betts
Posted by Mike Florio on September 21, 2010 11:06 PM ET
Veteran tailback Ladell Betts was dumped by the Saints on September 3.

Now, he could be coming back.

With Reggie Bush out four-to-six weeks due to a broken upper fibula in his right leg, the Saints will bring Betts in for a workout, according to Jason LaCanfora of NFL.com.

Betts spent eight years with the Redskins, from 2002 through 2009. He rushed for a career-high 1,154 yards in 2006, starting nine games in place of Clinton Portis.

For his career, Better has rushed for 3,176 yards and 13 touchdowns. He has added 1,505 yards on 165 receptions.
