re: Updated: 49ers Sign Brian Westbrook (update on Post #68)

I was for maybe picking him up back in April/May and having another weapon on the field but honestly right now it's not fair to all the other RB's who have been here busting their butts. Plus it would take a while for him to learn the play calls and scheme. Which means maybe by the last preseason game he would be able to perform somewhat well.

So now I'm against it. Portis looked good. Williams and Torain were awsome. Did Johnson even play? I stopped watching or fell asleep somewhere in the 4th quarter when it was 35-17. I was sorta supprised to see 45-17. I know it's a sin what I did.

so no to Westbrook. He missed the boat in my book. He had a chance to be apart of something special and he waited too long in my book. All he's good for now is having a team with an injured RB call him.

There was an offer on the table for him that he refused in an effort to perhaps find something better. Speculation suggest he would already be signed here if the money was what he'd be willing to accept. It's not too late providing he dosen't find a better offer.

Westbrook won't be a Redskin if this is true

We simply don't need Westbrook. He is a walking injury anymore. If we are probably going to cut Parker, why sign Westbrook? Torain and K Williams looked solid last night. We need to keep some youth on the squad to build on later on down the road, when CP and LJ start to decline.

Maybe westbrook has a concussion and his agent is second thinking this whole rams thing.....

He would be a fool to go there and I have a feeling his career would end very ugly if it hasn't already.

i see Portis, Johnson, Torain, and K. Williams probably stashed somewhere to be activated at a later date. Parker will get cut. At this point, we don't need Westbrook. Offtopic, but i'm more concerned about M. Kelly & D. Thomas.

If you had to choose between K. Williams and R. Torain, which would it be?

I say even at this point. Ask me after the Ravens if both get significant time. Right now though if you want an answer Williams just based on his better ypc in last night's game.

If he was smart, he sign with the 49ers were he would get lots of playing time as the #2 back.

At this point I really don't see a need to sign him here either. We have a good mix of backs already on the team and bringing him in just makes the rb log jam even tighter.

I agree with you FRedskin, he should go to the 9ers. There is greater chance for him to have success there then in St Louis.

I was into to bringin Westbrook here in the early parts of summer and even into the begining of training camp, but now he would just take away from some youth we have here.

I don't want to sign him simply because I don't want to feel obligated to keep his brother.
