I hope he learns from this (again) but he just doesn't seem like the type of person who learns anything from mistakes. He's put himself in bad situations over and over and over since he's become a pro football player. Maybe that wreck did do some brain damage. Quote:

Re: Big Ben off the hook again.
I guess now we'll see whether the Steelers live up to their reputation and take some type of disciplinary action against Big Ben. Goodell has definitely taken action before without waiting for some type of conviction.
From Mort's Tweet: mortreport DA provided lot of detail; just said on SC I believe Goodell was still disgusted by what he heard, as are Rooneys.

Re: Big Ben off the hook again.
I wonder if Campbell was waiting to sign his tender until finding out whether or not Big Ben would be charged. If he had been, Pittsburg would have been an ideal trade destination for Campbell.

Re: Big Ben off the hook again.
hi, welcome to the warpath. i dont think ben was ever accused or raping this person. who knows what he did, but the general consensus here is that he's a scumbag. that said, if he did commit a crime here, i would have hoped the victim would insist on a criminal trial and THEN sue Rothlesberger in a civil trial to collect financial compensation for damages. I'm very suspicious when things like this are privately settled outside of the judicial system. If Rothlesberger committed a crime, then avoiding a trial and privately settling the matter would only say the victim cared more about getting paid than seeing Rothlesberger punished and sent to jail so he couldnt hurt anyone else. On the flip side, if i were accused of something I didn't do, i'd want to go to trial to be vindicated. Basically, this whole things stinks.

second, he wasn't accused of rape. third, you are right he probably will get suspended, at least for 1 game, maybe more, either by the league or by the team. |

Re: Big Ben off the hook again.
the DA says rape and why would she be saying "HE DID IT! HE DID IT!" then all of a sudden not want to go through with the prosecution. the bar owner probly got paid too to dispose of the tape. this guy is a prick who needs to be suspended

That would be huge for JC to go there...I'd like it a lot for him. but don't forget about a certain mark bulger...he's from PA and would make a lot of sense to go there. Just a thought, not sure how you guys feel if he is washed up or not, he could at least be a good backup.

Re: Big Ben off the hook again.
I just read through all the posts, ive also been half-hazardly been keeping up on the case on the internet. There doesnt really seem to be any solid facts supporting the accusation, please correct me if im wrong. There is a video tape that got recorded over, but it doesn’t really seem like anyone even knows what the video tape recorded (the bathroom, or just the general bar areas?).
Whats really scary is that without any real evidence (again please correct me if im wrong) Ben will now forever carry around the stigma of being labeled a rapist. Most people commenting on this thread believe he raped this girl. It seems like most people out there also seem to believe that Ben will likely get in some sort of trouble for his accused actions, either getting a short suspension, substance abuse class, or something else. Can anyone just lay out the facts or post links to the facts that seem like Ben actually raped this girl?

Re: Big Ben off the hook again.
hmmm, lets see, that she went in their willingly, hence some level of consent. that she drank with him again some level of consent. That he's an idiot and needs to get out of that environment before he actually does cross a legal boundary (if he hasn't already). And finally, that you are willing to make a lot of assumptions, and assassinate a person's character without regard to what the law and legal system actually say.
