I STILL dont want Bradford. What good is a QB if he cant be protected? He may be the "sexy" pick but a LT would do better in the long run imo. Plus if they did bring in SB what would they do with JC? Grossman was brought in because he knows the O and we all know if they do go with a QB that high chances are he would start day one. JC would be the odd man out imo due to his salary. end rant

Ben won the SB without being protected.

Aaron Rodgers took GB deep with terrible protection.

We have had one of the best LTs in the entire league for ten years now. It hasn't taken us anywhere.

We also had a terrible front office that made terrible decisions. One of the main reasons we haven't been successful.

Due to our glaring holes in many areas, I think the best course of action would be to trade down if Bradford falls to us. There should be plenty of teams lining up to take him at #4, if Tampa Bay doesn't trade down with someone first.

Re: Rumor: Eagles and Rams Finalizing Trade Involving McNabb

St. Louis has determined that McNabb and one of the DT's is the best way to improve their club. Even though he is in his early 30's, McNabb is better than any QB in the draft and the Rams don't have to pass on Suh or McCoy (likely Suh). No one at #33 is going to be as talented as McNabb and the Eagles want to move onto Kolb and get something in value for Donovan before his performance diminishes. For the Skins, it improves our choices at number four. Everyone wins with this trade.

Cleveland could still jump us to get to Bradford. Holmgren has publicly said he doesn't care for Clausen...

And the possibility of Bradford falling to us just increased, but it still doesn't mean we'll draft him.
I tend to agree but wonder how soon the Rams think the playoffs are feasible, and whether McNabb will still be the right guy to be the starting QB when they have the right playoff pieces together. At first glance, I'm not seeing the advantage for them. No doubt, they'd be getting a talented QB, but the Rams are a team that I'd peg as one that, if it was inclined to trade a second round pick, would want in exchange an established player that is a little younger than McNabb.

This is true, but the franchise QB is an absolute necessity in this league. If you don't have one, your best hope is for one season of success, and then failure again. Dilfer and Grossman come to mind.

This is a passing league now, and we need a passer. You cannot win consistently without one.

And if we don't get one now, what are we going to have to give up next season to get one? Multiple picks like the Bears did for Cutler?

As much as I want to draft a QB, arguing that Rodgers and Ben didn't have protection is not the way to go. They had enough protection to complete seven step drops and throw a lot of deep balls. The fact that they were so effective at running those type of plays left them more exposed to hits on the QB. Jason could barely finish a 3 step drop.

You can have the best left tackle in the game, and still not do anything. Like us for the last decade.

If you have the best QB in the game, you are going places.

Both are important, but a QB is absolutely critical. Much more important than a left tackle.

And, don't believe that if we draft Bradford, we are giving up on a LT. We can get both.

We still have plenty of other options to get one. Including packaging up players like one of our TEs, Landry, or even JC together to get one.
