It is NOT good from an agent's perspective to be known as "owner friendly". None of them cultivate that image because it doe not help them get new clients or keep old ones. Granted, some agents are so "owner hostile" that it hjurts tham, but if Smoot's agent is "too friendly" he is on his way out of the agent business. jbcjr14: Just as I tried to explain last year, putting the franchise tag on someone does not mean very much. Let's see, we had a franchise player here last winter and what that tag accomplished was that it allowed us to trade him and a 2nd round pick for a running back that we threw $50+M at. Boy, that was effective. And we had signed away a franchise player from a divison rival for about $35M but when we cut his sorry-ass last year he went back to that team on a 1-year deal worth about $1M. Franchise tags often don't mean squadoosh...
