Re: Chris Samuels about to Retire
I definitely think Chris has been one of the more underappreciated Skins over the past decade.
He's been a warrior for us, that's for sure. |

Re: Chris Samuels about to Retire
I think LT is probably the most important position on the offense. The fact we never had to worry about it is something pretty special with Chris. No LT ever gives 100% protection on every play- they're usually facing the D's best lineman. But Chris was one of the best in the league. It's going to be interesting to see how this position is going to be filled going forward.

Re: Chris Samuels about to Retire
Soo the final piece has fallen, the last brick or wall that we had or the last REDSKIN we had is now gone. SNYDER IS AN ASS. Thanks for the O-LINE, good thing you bought a d-linemen for 100000000. Stupid F---.

Re: Chris Samuels about to Retire
Yes, because Snyder is in charge of player acquisitions. Someone listens to a bit too much 106.7 -- Snyder hate radio. God I need to get my Sirius in my new car ASAP so I can stop listening to those 2nd rate "sports experts."

Re: Chris Samuels about to Retire
Sad day, we lost the one constant that we have had on the team for the past decade. Now we definately draft a OT in the 1st.

Re: Chris Samuels about to Retire
Great player and he will be missed. Hard to replace a Chris Samuels.
Ranks as third best all time LT for Skins behind Jacoby and Lachey, Jacoby and Lachey were better run blockers than Samuels. Still Samuels is an incredible player. Skins got caught with their pants down with player personnel moves, in particular the O-Line. I hope DS makes the right move to get rid of Cerrato. |

As most know we need a solid O-Line, and the org. has turned there back on this aging group. Would you agree the primary function of the GM and Coaching Staff is to point out these areas of weakness and have them addressed. On a side note, I certainly hope Levi can step up and play at a high level, right away.

Re: Chris Samuels about to Retire
Samuels' retirement decision up to four months away
Posted by Mike Florio on October 23, 2009 7:42 PM ET In response to a report that Redskins left tackle Chris Samuels will retire due to a neck injury, we're told that a final decision is not expected for three or four months. Samuels is being evaluated by Dr. Robert Watkins, a Southern California spine specialist whose NFL patients include former Chiefs running back Priest Holmes. Samuels, we're told, has been experiencing numbness below the waist since injuring his neck two weeks ago. Samuels was the third overall pick in the 2000 draft. He is under contract with the Redskins through 2011.

Smart decision on his part. Best of luck to him and his family.

Re: Chris Samuels about to Retire
I'm actually happy to hear this. He should retire. No sense risking further injury with this sorry bunch.
A solid Skin for years and underappreciated by many, me included. |
