We really do not need to give up another draft pick either.

There is no way the Rams will match, they are laughing their asses off at a fifth rounder falling into their laps.

A 5th rd pick for a young starting corner? I think the ram's might be crying if they lose him.

Ironically, Butler himself was a 5th round pick so if we don't get Butler maybe with the pick we'll be drafting the next Jerametrius Butler....or better

I sure hope Smoot stays. JimohSmack doesn't have quite the same ring to it

I'll have to cross buying a Smoot Jersey off my list, until he gets a new deal. I defintley think he has to stay, Butler is a better "Insurance" policy for Springs, incase he gets hurt.

possibly, but when was the last time we drafted someone that late in the draft that was able to consistently start at their position and perform like butler did last year?

Cool

I didn't actually realise that Butler was a starter in St Louis, so that's my own fault for being ignorant.

But I would question his desire if he is willing to go from starting to #3.

Maybe he thinks he can beat Smoot or Springs out?

This is a great value deal. There is no way Cerrato/Snyder can draft a starting caliber CB (or any position for that matter) in the 5th round. Plus his cap cost is very low for the first two years. The Rams will have to cut someone to match. Very smart move.

Looks like I was wrong on this one, I mean I'm glad I am but I just hope we keep some picks next year and maybe trade down this year.

Snyder slipped in a bonus that kicks in for year 3 to give the Rams something else to chew on. So shrewd, LOL gotta love it

I agree this might be an insurance policy & smart policy at that. Say we did not make this trade, next off season we lose Smoots to FA..? We are starting all over again at the corner position.

Springs has 2-3 season left at best.

Jerametrius Butler has already been through the NFL learning curve & is battle tested. Any 5th rd'er we aquire in the draft will need at least 2 seasons to be battle tested.

I'm 50/50 on this deal...????

Springs is only two years older than Champ. He's only 28.

no more big names is what the skins have stated just role players. Expect us to take Jason Dunn of the Chiefs, The linebacker who got cut by the panthers because of Armstead and some good role model players. One big I just can't Snyder letting go is Sapp as much as I hate it he might end up a skin next year especially if the Buccs take Garcia.

Personally I'd rather take Wiley because he still may dominate this year

i hope that warren sapp does not come anywhere close to washington until the 2004 season.i would take wiley over sapp in a second.sapp is fat, old, overated, and a cancer to any team he is on.
