yeah, you can. But for some reason this season, I'm having major issues with the player. We upgraded the player, but wouldn't you know it I can't access the player since the upgrade.

You can, last year I watched half the season on that because of my stupid kickball league. If you have a good computer it's not too bad.

Re: Official Lost Season 5 Thread (Warning: Possible Spoilers)
That's an interesting piece. The year they were in last night on the island was 1954, which was pre-Vatican II. Prior to that ecumenical council, Latin was taught much more commonly since it was the primary language in all Catholic masses. Not sure if that has anything to do with it. Charlotte also referred to it as the "language of the enlightened."

Re: Official Lost Season 5 Thread (Warning: Possible Spoilers)
I was just going to bring up this thread yesterday. I really don't know how I feel about this season. There have been episodes that I've loved but there has also been a ton of stuff that's just frustrated the hell out of me.
The time travel thing is interesting but can obviously be very confusing. One thing that I don't like is that with the exception of Desmond in the 3rd season the whole idea of traveling through time and changing the past just sort of popped up last season. I still feel like there are so many unanswered questions from seasons 1 & 2 that will barely be resolved by the time the show is completely done because of all the new stuff. The fact that there are so many characters who are so spread out (by location and time) can be a little annoying because it means we don't hear anything from certain characters for weeks at a time. This season has caused me to stop trying to come up with theories about the nature of the island and the reason their all there, and that kind of sucks because I think that was one of the biggest draws to the show for the first couple of seasons. I know the writers have said that they knew where the show was going from the beginning, but I really don't believe that. I mean, the first season sort of set it up like Walt and Claire's then unborn baby would be completely intergal to the plot but now they're basically gone. At the same time, Ben was only supposed to be around for a couple of episodes but now he's one of the most important characters. Sorry for rambling. I still am totally obessed with the show and it seems like none of my friends or coworkers watch it anymore so I hardly get to yap about it.

Damn, I killed another thread...
So, Farraday is/was Penny's brother. Interesting.

Is Walt completely irrelevant now? I was wondering about that too

Re: Official Lost Season 5 Thread (Warning: Possible Spoilers)
I feel like he is. I guess the kid who plays him just grew up too quickly.
Remember when Locke visited him and he said that he wasn't going to try to bring him back to the island because he's been through enough already. I think that was the writers way of sweeping him under the rug. What sucks is that we'll never know what the Others did with him when they kidnapped him back in season 2.

Re: Official Lost Season 5 Thread (Warning: Possible Spoilers)
I had planned to watch the season finale tonight on the computer, but since the Caps completely crapped the bed I got to enjoy Lost instead. So, any thoughts on last night?
The guy that writes the Lost articles for EW.com has been saying all season that he feels like this one is mirroring season 2 and I think the ending to last night really sealed that idea for me. Juliet detonating the bomb was just like Desmond turning the failsafe key. So, if this theory hold up, maybe the final season will mirror the first. I have no idea what that will mean for the show, but I'm looking forward to finding out.

Re: Official Lost Season 5 Thread (Warning: Possible Spoilers)
I want to see how Locke's character plays out. I mean, is the current Locke on the island even really John Locke? Richard Alpert seems thrown by him and even said he seems different. And then we find out his corpse is still there. Strange. Also, he manipulated Ben into killing Jacob, so clearly Locke wants to be king of the castle.
What's in the guitar case that Jacob gave to Hurley?
