At this point, I'll agree w/those that say the iggles are involved. Those guys are taking a different approach this year & are ready to pull out all stops.
Because the thread title makes the reader think that a deal for a guy like Larry Fitgerald or DeAngelo Hall might be in the works. And then when the first post reveals that the prediction is as vauge as predicting a big tornado sometime this year people get disapointed and end up venting. I mean the guys new so he should get a pass but still, this is the type of thing you bring up in the middle of another relevant thread.

Plus I'm starting to think that Smootsmack and Matty might be away, so thats why the thread hasn't been closed yet. I guess this is what would happen if the mods never closed threads.

I love Fifa!!!!!!!

So what would the new title be?

"During the 2008 off-season, some teams might acquire big name players"

I was thinking:
Dianne Simmons: "On to our next story, its the start of NFL Free Agency"
Tom Tucker: "and here's Olli Williams with our free agency forecast"
Olli Williams: "THERS GON' BE A TRADE!"

hehe, family guy

I've noticed throughout the post this thread gets alot of heat. Maybe their is a need or maybe there is not. Its not credible by any means but Seantaylor21 was just trying to inform everyone what Jay Glazer said. If there was such a big trade he would have spilled the beans on it as well. Media loves to break something before anyone else. If i had anything to say about it, it would be the Phins probably raping another team(more than likely Dallas) and sending the Number 1 pick and recieving picks and players. If it is dallas going after Mcfadden i hate to say it but i hope he is a bust. If he stays out of the NFC East i hope he is a stud.

I think it has somethign to do with the Larry Fitz thread that I have going...man I hope he stays out of philly but it seems like the eagles keep making offers utnil they accept one. The cards would be dumb to trade him, pay the man what he earned and work out a new deal!

I still think too many people take it upon themselves to proclaim threads stupid when they could just ignore them. In the case of this thread, while this isn't the greatest worded thread of all time, it is the off season and this is kind of interesting. I don't see how the site is not better off with all you guys just ignoring threads you don't like rather than acting like a bunch of vigilante thread police.

Given our crazy trade history I want to know anytime anything big is "in the works."

Nothings wrong with poking fun at an glaringly general thread. If he had said, "Jay Glazer said that the Redskins could have a huge trade in the works" Nobody would have any qualms with that. But just saying "Oh yeah, he said that there's going to be a huge trade." We have a what... 1 in 32 chance of that actually being us. Come on now. There's nothing wrong with some harmless jabbing.

And if ST21 is right, then I'm sure we'll all be having a heaping helping of crow.

I just think if people put as much time into their own threads as they did into calling out other people's this place would be a lot better off, especially recently, since about 100 people have taken it upon themselves to serve as de facto mods. I think the best punishment for a bad thread is letting it get 3 responses and then fade unceremoniously into the night. Anything particularly egregious can be locked down by a mod.

But any chance this thread had of being redeemed by discussion was crushed by four pages of lame jokes - I didn't laugh once!

What an awful terrible obscure non-specific thread, right? So let's all post multiple times on it.

Everyone chill. This topic didn't deserve a thread. It also didn't deserve absolutely ripping a member with about 20 total posts to his name, IMO.

:FIREdevil:FIREdevil:FIREdevilMua ha ha ha! As I said before, this is what happens when the mods are gone. Thread nazis run amuck, bad jokes fall like hail, and Anthony Mix draws comparisons to Randy Moss. :FIREdevil:FIREdevil:FIREdevil
