Re: PFT: Raiders shopping Michael Huff
Phillips could be a stud here, but I doubt seeing him around at 21...

LaRon Landry- We all know this kid is going to be good for years to come. After Landry the talent drastically drops.... Reed Doughty- Showed some promise last year, but I am not sold on him being a starter. I think Doughty is more suited for a backup role. Vernon Fox- Career special teams player. Decent backup safety. Pierson Prioleau- Free Agent that will probably follow GW to Jacksonville. Omar Stoutmire- Free Agent who is 33 years old, and likely to be gone. So if Prioleau, and Stoutmire depart that leaves us with 3 safeties two of whom (Doughty,Fox) probably are not starting caliber safeties in this leauge. Even if Doughty was able to prove himself and start this year we would still need to add at least one more safety for depth. So I think either way you look at it we need to address the safety position. |

Basically.. I think.... #21 - Either (if either one is still available) Kenny Phillips, or Brandon Flowers. Later rounds... 2nd-OL/OG 3rd-WR/CB 5th-P/K 6th-ol/og depth 7th-ol/og depth CB- CB is an issue, but like I said, with two blistering safeties, I think that would lighten coverages. You wont see many teams going deep as often with LL and KP back there. Either way, Phillips or Flowers are golden. WR- I think Anthony Mix is going to be our new Red Zone threat, so we REALLY DON'T need a WR in the draft. Period. We have WAY too much money tied up on Brandon Lloyd. Reche, Santana, Randle El, Mix. If he doesn't retire, Keenan for real vet leadership. Linebackers.... H.B. Blades is good. Damn good. Give him time to develop. Whenever Rocky comes back, it won't be like he never left, it's going to take time for him to make his full recovery... (if it ever happens). Fletcher has 2 years left. We have decent players on the defensive side, but I agree we need a playmaker closer to the ball. Andre is good. Depth at isn't as crucial as all these other needs. You can go after DL in FA.

what are you people talking aboug "we can't afford him" ??????? WE ALWAYS have salary cap issues and we ALWAYS get over them.. every year.. we are under the cap and will be 20mil under the cap after brunell adn a few others are cut and such.. We may not b the smartest with what we do with our money but we are MASTERS at managing our cap. We can sign any player we want, but it seems that Dan is refraining from having to be the highest bidder... IT looks like they will make a decent offer and if it's turned down, then on they go.. But really, I dont understand why people are always talking about "we are in cap trouble" and al ltaht crap... Let me ask you this... Did you just start bein a redskins fan? because as long as I can remember for the past 10 years we've always been in 'cap hell' but somehow always find a way to sign whoeer we want.... THINK BEFORE YOU POST hahaah |
