Re: BREAKING NEWS: Multiple Sources Confirm Jim Zorn Named Head Coach
Some quotes about Jim Zorn... our new HC...
"He's very hands-on with his quarterbacks," said Redskins cornerback Shawn Springs, who played in Seattle while Zorn was on the coaching staff. "He's a real bright guy. Very sharp. And [Seahawks Pro Bowl quarterback] Matt [Hasselbeck] would tell you he's done a lot for his career. I think he'll be real good for Jason [Campbell]." "It was leaked out that he might be leaving for a while, but I didn't think he would go," Hasselbeck said. "I've been with him for a long time, and he means a lot to me not just as a coach but as a mentor. I think it's hard for him because he has so many great memories in Seattle, but this is a great opportunity and a great challenge in Washington." Hasselbeck said quarterback Jason Campbell is getting a solid technician in Zorn. "Jason can expect to be coached in all aspects of his life, not just Xs and Os, not just the technique of throwing a pigskin," he said. "Jim's going to care about Jason Campbell the person just as much as he's going to care about Jason Campbell the player." Zorn started 100 games as Seattle's quarterback, experience that makes him equal parts realist and perfectionist. "He's a realist on things, good and bad," Hasselbeck said. "The tough thing I found with Jim is that you may think you're playing at a level you think is really good and you're doing everything you're supposed to be doing and everything all the coaches have asked you to do. "Jim will say, 'Now we have to take it to the next level.' And that's hard when you're thinking, 'I had a good game. I was NFC offensive player of the week.' But he'll say, 'You didn't do this, this and this.' But in the big picture, he has a good perspective on things."

Cool! Hiring from within. The classic mark of a well run organization. Mad props to you Danny for sticking with continuity!

Re: BREAKING NEWS: Multiple Sources Confirm Jim Zorn Named Head Coach
All I have to say is WTF!? I was psyched about him coming aboard as the OC, but this seems like a huge gamble to me and comes completely out of nowhere. I totally don't know what to make of this. I'm dumbfounded by this whole search for the next head coach as it's become one giant roller coaster.

Re: BREAKING NEWS: Multiple Sources Confirm Jim Zorn Named Head Coach
This explains I guess why Redskins officials have been allegedly seen in the Seattle/Portland area the last couple of days.
Zorn's can't handle it all himself. Maybe there's someone in Seattle he's bringing here? Haskell? Stump Mitchell? I'm not about to say the season is over, cause that would be stupid. But this is interesting nonetheless, I'm not sure how I feel about thrusting someone who hasn't even been a coordinator into such a high profile position without knowing what kind of support he's going to get on his offensive staff. Makes you wonder why we didn't keep Lazor though

STOP THE PRESSES PFT is saying that the Redskins have hired Deion Sanders to be the HC and Jamie Dukes is going to be his OC!!! Oh wait never mind I just realized it was from PFT.

Seems like you're expressing two seperate thoughts. Are you insuating that Zorn will call the plays?

Re: BREAKING NEWS: Multiple Sources Confirm Jim Zorn Named Head Coach
I like it because he's fresh...but he's never even coached an offense...how are the old guard going to feel about this...and the players? Its obvious that this was not the plan in the beginning.

Re: BREAKING NEWS: Multiple Sources Confirm Jim Zorn Named Head Coach
So Jim is already getting a raise ( so much for the 1 mil) and a promotion and we haven't even played a game yet.......? lol
I'm taken back on this one but its clear Dan wasn't sold on bringing the old blood in here...maybe the public opinion made the difference..?
