Re: Man, is Sally Jenkins dating Antonio Pierce?
So we now instintually listen to everyone who has an opinion on something that they have never taken part in. Please!
I've seen countless times people in this group talk about someone not knowing what they are talking about because they havent played football! And please dont lie and say that it hasnt happened, because we all know when people start talkin about what they want to see in the draft, free agency, and our play calling that is thrown around an awful lot. So spare me the inconsistent examples, and stop trying to make me out to be something that I am not. As for me and my inside scoop...lol. I reported that the Jets were interested in Betts for a 2nd rounder, and guess who they did get for a second rounder - Thomas Jones. So there,, the trade did happen, just not for us. I like how you wanna act like you know me man. You make comments about me, and I didnt go at you or anyone else in this forum like that. I think you should stick to the issue as well, and I would appreciate it if kept me and my PAST business out of your mouth and off of this forum. I would think that an apology is in order. Like I did to those who I have offended, you should do the same, but can I realistically expect that? Time will tell. The only thing I ask from this forum is that we objectively talk about the issues. we would be better off. I never said anything bad about women. I just said I dont listen to thing that they havent participated in, and, for me, that goes fro politics, sports, and religion. I just want you all to see the "nature" of my comment before you lash out. Maybe you want to even ask me for clarification before you jump the gun. If that would have happened at first, then maybe we wouldnt bee here. Is it too much to ask the moderators to help facilitate that type of discourse? Once again, time will tell. PS. Sean and Clayton dont do that segment anymore in video(now in radio), because of all the animosity that played out. Whether it was playful or not, its not a staple of ESPN as it once was. PPS In the broadcast booth for football games, when do u ever see the announcer, whether it be Joe Buck or Pat Summerall, comment on the intricacies of actual gameplay? That is reserved for the ex-coaches and players. Dennis Miller, when he was on MNF, would often over step that line, and due to that, among other reason, he was consequently fired.

Sally Jenkins is doing exactly what she has set out to do. To write the most scathing commentary that she possibly can about the Redskins, because it draws attention. Look at it like this, it should fuel the fire for Danny boy to do whatever he can to turn the Redskins into winners. Until the Redskins win the Super Bowl, I'd expect more of the same from her.

You don't listen to people who haven't had experience in politics about political matters? Really? You do realize that politics is about everything under the sun and politicians are not really experts in anything other than running campaigns, fundraising, and public speaking. For example, I listen to "non-politicans" when it comes to military affairs, health care experts when it comes to health care issues, and economists when it comes to economic issues. As for religion, you only listen to people who have participated in religion? What does that mean? I don't think you really meant what you said. |

As for clarification, in retrospect, I maybe should have said that I "question" instead of "I don't listen to," and how much "one" can really know about something that they haven't played or in which they were a participant, rather than use "woman" or "SJ." Those comments may not have taken as much heat, but at the same time, I did the exact thing, but I was just more specific with that example. I agree some discourse isn't worth facilitating, but just as ignorant as that discourse may be, it is just as ignorant to preclude someone's perspective before you understand where that someone is coming from and/or meant. I really laughed out loud, at your disbelief in defending SJ....that was comedy

I am not picking on women either, because the comments I made do go to both men and women. I just thought that most would pick up on the implicit part of my statement, but yes, its does go for men too. If Pat Summit were to give me some pointers on how to coach, I'd be eager to hear them, and the same thing goes if i could get some pointers on jump shots from Diana Turassi As a result, I hold in "higher regard" the opinions of John Madden(who's game I have played since it debuted), Troy Aikman, Jimmy Johnson, Sonny Jurgs, Joey T, Howie Long, and Steve Mariucci because they have played pr coached. They all have more credibility to criticize, and they always will. To explain further, that is the larger view of the comments relating to SJ. So because of these things, just to clarify again, I am weary of any man or, in this case, woman who comments on anything that they haven't played. I shouldn't have said I don't listen to them because I do. I retrospect, I hold their comments in lower regard when compared to those who have never played, and they (op/eds) have to prove more in their arguments to me because of the aforementioned points.

Re: Man, is Sally Jenkins dating Antonio Pierce?
So do you hold all our opinions (our non-playing opinions) on this board in low regard as well?
And if so, what were you hoping to accomplish by joining the site in the first place?

Re: Man, is Sally Jenkins dating Antonio Pierce?
I do have esteem for the opinions and comments of everyone in this forum and on The Warpath. I have esteem for the opinions of those who have not played football, coached, or have been part of a sports organization. I respect those with journalism backgrounds.
However, to those on here who have played, coached, or been part of sports organizations, I consider their comments and opinions to hold more weight. As to why I joined up to the Warpath, I am a die hard fan, and I want to be able to talk about football with like minded people year round. I don't mind conversation. I don't even mind disagreements. I do, from time to time, have to clarify my statements to other members. Thats is what happened today.
