Check this kid Mason out. He's pretty sick. He seem's to have great vision and he makes some great cuts at full speed without losing a step. I hope we found something here.

Re: Redskins bring in Nine Undrafted Rookies.
IF they weren't drafted it tells you something. Snyder always does this, signs a bunch of non drafted guys and none of them amount to a hill of beans. Surprised he only signed 9 this year.

Re: Redskins bring in Nine Undrafted Rookies.
Every owner on every team signs a bunch of players that don't get drafted. Often times, later round prospects prefer not to get drafted because it gives them more freedom to sign where they want to.

http://www.unionleader.com/article.a...5-ebf41f8013dc Offensive guard Tucker Peterson of Clarendon, Vt. makes it three-for-three for last yea's captains as far as getting a shot at the NFL. The Washington Redskins called yesterday morning and invited Peterson to take part in mini-camp this weekend. They had not offered him a contract as of last night. "They'll put me through some drills and see if they want to sign me a contract," Peterson said. "Right now I'm an unsigned free agent." The Bears have also expressed an interest in Peterson and if they were to offer a contract, he could go there instead. And if neither of those options work out, the New York Jets have invited him to their camp, which starts next Tuesday. Peterson intends to drill out at both guard and center in mini-camp. It was tough watching the draft and not being picked and then waiting to hear from teams Sunday night, Peterson said. "You have your goal right in front of you and can't quite get it and then you wait and wait and you're positive you'll get a call and it doesn't come," he said. "It was frustrating until this morning. Now I'll try to make the most of it."

Re: Redskins bring in Nine Undrafted Rookies.
If Hickman can make the team as a special teamer and (maybe) a third-down specialist, that would free us up to find a decent DT to take some of the double-team heat off of Griffin. I'm trying hard to be optimistic.

Re: Redskins bring in Nine Undrafted Rookies.
At least one of these nine will make the team. If Peterson signs, my money's on him. The article cited by Smoot said about 22% of the league's rosters started as undrafted rookies. Given the numbers, there are some good players out there - we just need to find'em (Hey they found A. Pierce awhile back - it could happen again).

Re: Redskins bring in Nine Undrafted Rookies.
Just thought of another OFA signing that made an impact- Willie Parker.
There really are some good players out there now. Some need a little time and work to be solid players but, if you could find em all, I bet you could build a damn fine team with nothing but OFA's. The biggest problem w/ OFA's is finding and developing them. Parker was hidden on his college's depth chart, same w/ Priest Holmes. Most OFA QB's need to get up to speed on the pro game. Same w/ O-linemen (I think you could build a pro-bowl line with OFA linemen BUT it would take about 3-5 years of development). Given the time and money invested in raw talent (i.e. draft picks), teams just don't have the resources (including cap space) or interest in taking 3-5 years to develop these OFA's - only to have them sign elsewhere when they become true contributors. It is one of the downsides to the salary cap era.
