Re: If we keep Archuletta...

We need to go a 3-4 defense put arch in as a blitzing linebacker
that will also help our lack of D-line pressure

Bears | Archuleta an option?

John Mullin, of the Chicago Tribune, reports should the <A href="http://www.kffl.com/team/37/nfl">Washington Redskins decide to part ways with S Adam Archuleta this offseason, the Chicago Bears might express interest in the veteran safety. Last offseason, the Redskins outbid the Bears for the services of Archuleta, who played under Bears head coach Lovie Smith while Smith was still a member of the St. Louis Rams coaching staff. A new rule allows Archuleta to hit the market at the outset of free agency and the Redskins will likely release him in early March.
Whats this new rule?

you're allowed to release two players early and have their cap hit handled as if they were released june 1st. It's good for the players, since they can be on the market when the money is still there.

It did not set him back at all. AA can work out at the Park, on his own or he can work out on the moon. It does not matter cause he can't cover anybody. Classic case of a guy getting a bunch of hype becasue he has this crazy workout regimen. WHO GIVES A DAMN. The bottom line is can you play football? The Rams didn't think so and we learned the hard way. Now it looks like we are stuck with the most expensive punt protection guy in the history of the NFL.

How in the world are we going to play a 3-4 w/ our personel? Not gonna happen.

Maybe being benched and another year in the system he will start to live up to his contract. I think our D as a whole started thinking to much last year and did not just go out and play. They just never had that play that got them rolling.
Too much pressure? I think these guys are making excuses. Carter may have rushed the passer a little better but he still could not hold up on the run. If I rememer correctly the Giants had in 75 year old Bob Whitfield and he manhandled Carter the last game of the year while Tiki ran wild. If you ask me we should bring in a DE that can play run downs for Carter. He's just not strong enough to be an everydown 4-3 end.

does this rule strictly benefit the players? or is there something that benefits the team as well?

Re: If we keep Archuletta...

Cut him loose period. He doesnt have the coverage skills or the speed that GW's scheme needs from his position. I think in a 40 yard dash i could beat his slow ass.
