I can not believe some of crap I am hearing from people. some concerns, the kid has played 5 games. Against some of the best D's in the nfl. two quality wins against Carolina (when they were in the playoff hunt) and on the road in New Orleans. take away a couple of fluke plays (Tampa and Philly) and the kid is 4-1 and we are in the hunt. As he ages, jesus man he has been in the league for 2 years!! Has Farve lost any zip on his ball?? NO. anyway, like I said he is what 24, he isn't 44! give it a rest. |

Re: Jason Campbell's performance today
Maybe this thread is a blessing in disguise, rather than a bunch of piling on comments that JC sucks, people instead have come to his defense!
We have hope for the future! |

Re: Jason Campbell's performance today

Re: Jason Campbell's performance today
From what I've seen, Campbell's got that "it." I love his cool demeanor, not to up not to down (kinda reminds you of a certain hall of fame coach), and his rocket arm, I think if continues to improve we've got us a franchise QB. Very bright future, I say!

Re: Jason Campbell's performance today
Aight, everyone is jumping all over this, so I'll clarify what I meant. I never said that Campbell is not the future, I never said bring in Collins, I never said I think he is bad, all I said is I thought he had his worst game this season. There were lots of things in this game that showed that he has alot of promise, ie his pass selection, calmness, mobility, poise, but when he misses 6 wide open recievers, I think that is terrible. Once he gets his accuracy down, he'll be a stud, but 6 easy misses is ridiculous.

Re: Jason Campbell's performance today
There are quite a few starting QBs that do that fairly often. No one is perfect, save for Peyton.

Nobody is putting words in your mouth - perhaps you initially overstated just how bad you thought he played. For a kid playing in his 5th NFL game, I'd say he looked just how you'd expect a talented but young QB to look. Sure he missed some throws, missed some open receivers. He also landed some beauties and had a few dropped by receivers. He's young, making some mistakes but steadily improving. Watch guys like Phillip Rivers on Sunday, or Alex Smith all last season, and we're really doing a hell of a lot better than some teams with young QBs.

I think people forget that Campbell basically went from third string to starting. It's really not very often that a guy leap frogs the second string right into live action. |

Re: Jason Campbell's performance today
There are two things that happened this season that's got me excited about the Redskins future. 1) The play of Jason Campbell and 2) the running of Ladell Betts. Campbell is progressing nicely and Betts has proven that he is a very capable back. The best thing about it is I'll get to see JC live for the first time this weekend when the Skins come to St Louis. Usually when the Skins come to town, we end up singing Hail to the Redskins at the end of the game.

Re: Jason Campbell's performance today
He's not Mark Brunell........his arm doesn't get weaker every year. Most Qb's keep their arms........and many pitchers as well (roger clemens). He dropped back this week cause he could, the O-line was awesome, he adjusts when there's pressure. Also, he has been adjusting his throws depending on distance more and more if you noticed. Those throws at the end of the half were sailing out of bounds becuase he was being overly cautious, didn't wanna throw a pick 6 on an out rout at end of half.

Re: Jason Campbell's performance today
I think Campbell's throwing has a lot in common with my 4-year-old son's peeing.
1) They both have good velocity. 2) Their aim can be improved. 3) I expect them to do much better with practice. |
