The QB issue hasn't been all that pretty the past few years but it could have been a lot uglier. That's a testament to the character of the players involved and the values instilled by Gibbs

Thank you Brunell, I will miss the good times. You did bring life to the Skins, when all we had was "Happy Feet" Ramsey. I think Campbell(or atleast hope) has picked up some positives from you.
Thanks for bringing us to the playoffs, and leading us to a win. I could barely remember our win over the Lions ages ago, and I dont remember any of the glory days, so that meant alot to me. Also am gonna miss you postgame pressers, I swear you looked like Fonzie.

Re: The Official Thank You Mark Brunell Thread
Age and injuries are hard to overcome - don't blame Brunell for this 3-6 start, blame Gibbs for waiting too long to make the change.
I'll choose to remember the positives of the Mark Brunell era, particularly the playoff drive last season. His clutch performances in BOTH Cowboys games, and his solid play before getting injured in the crucial Giants game last Christmas Eve demonstrated that he could still lead a team driving for the playoffs. I'm glad that Campbell will get a chance to start more than 2-3 games this season. His body of work, particularly in December once his feet are wet, should help determine whether we're set at QB or whether we'll be looking for a veteran free agent come March. |

I appreciate the effort MB has made... but honestly, he hasn't given us anything that we couldn't have gotten from Ramsey or Campbell for alot less $.

Re: The Official Thank You Mark Brunell Thread
One big difference between Ramsey and Campbell - Ramsey was a loser at every level HS, college, and Pro. Campbell has been a winner in both HS and college. As Lombardi once said, winning is a habit, and unfortunately, so is losing. For any Campbell bashers that point out his benefit of playing with Ronnie Brown and Cadillac Williams, I'll point out that nobody ever held Reggie Bush and Len Dale White as the reason for Matt Leinart's success in college. I believe Campbell will eventually be a BIG winner in the pros.

Re: The Official Thank You Mark Brunell Thread
I used to be a believer in Brunell after last year, but the way this year went my belief went down the drain, until I couldn't wait to see Campbell either. But anyways, I just want to thank Mark for being one of the classiest people out there. He might not be much of a player anymore, but he had a hell of a career and I wish him all the best. This is the second time in three seasons he's been benched, and he has never complained, but took it in stride. He had a hell of a season last year too, leading us to the playoffs.

Re: The Official Thank You Mark Brunell Thread
I would like to thank Mark for being a man about things, he could have easily used a ski mask and a gun to rob 43 mil, and yet he didn't, he was up front about this larceny, and cap destruction, not to mention the amount of time spent waiting for you to actually compete, FOUGHT YOUR GUTS OUT? Maybe trying to cut in line at the bank to cash all those checks which I am sure you will continue to do, but that's where it ended. So long Mark don't let the door hit you in the A**.

Thank you Mark Brunell. Thanks for being a classy guy and for playing with all your heart. I wish we could've signed you when you were still in your prime, but whats done is done.

Re: The Official Thank You Mark Brunell Thread
I want to say first of all that Mark is one player on our football team. We have 53 players and also coaches that have coached our way, with me being a big part of it, and we are 3-6.
Having said that, I made this move with the hope that we get more production. It is a tough decision to make. I talked to Mark and he was an absolute gentleman about it. He understands and I am sure he does not agree with it. I talked to all three guys and explained the decision that I wanted to make. I explained it to them and said that we are going to give Jason his opportunity and see if we can be more productive and get some answers. Mark fought his guts out for this organization and for the fans. I just hope everyone knows and understands this, nobody wanted to win more than this guy. But it's Jason's turn now, and Mark will support him and do everything he can to help Jason be a successful QB. We have a ton of confidence in Jason, and we think he's going to do a great job for this organization and I think the fans are gonna love him. |
