Good for his marketability though.

Re: Gibbs: Duckett Will Carry on Short Yardage
yeah that's true. a poor man's Brian Westbrook for some other team.
still, woulda been nice if one of our expensive new recievers had more than 200yds this season..

Re: Gibbs: Duckett Will Carry on Short Yardage
Honestly, I don't know. Betts is proven in the system, but we all know Duckett is decent too, even though I'd prefer the changed of pace back.

Re: Gibbs: Duckett Will Carry on Short Yardage
I am not 100% percent sure, but I think Ducket has been active the last couple of games. I think they go into the games with only two active tight ends

Re: Gibbs: Duckett Will Carry on Short Yardage
this makes for a very very happy panda.
Its really just common sense...glad it being implemented, and I applaud our teams.

Re: Gibbs: Duckett Will Carry on Short Yardage
Rock is very valuble as a kick returner, so I imagine he will stay active. Presumably if Duckett is doing short yardage, he is also doing special teams, and we can carry 4 RBs and one less at another position.

Re: Gibbs: Duckett Will Carry on Short Yardage
Gibbs should NOT announce these kind of coaching moves in the media.
1) Why publicly humiliate Portis and ruffle his feathers? The message you are putting out in the media is you are not doing it we will try someone else. 2) It gives our next opponent an advance on what we are doing. Why? 3) If Duckett fails Gibbs looks stupid. Just make the move don't telegraph it. |

The proof is in the recent superbowl winning teams, they have been balanced (pass/run) which makes them unpredictable. This causes the opposing defenses to be on their heels guessing. One dimensional teams like Colts and Eagles (strong with the pass but average run) have come up short in the playoffs every year. The Patriots and Steelers won by running and passing and not being predictable. Skins are good running the ball but inconsistant passing. So good teams stack the line and key on Portis. It is not Portis' fault or lack of execution, the defense has 8 to 9 guys playing the run against 6 blockers. We will lost that battle almost every time. Our QB needs to make the defensive back 7 think about moving backwards. |

Re: Gibbs: Duckett Will Carry on Short Yardage
I say get rid of Rock, Betts is a better kick returner. And have Sellers lead the way during heavy-jumbo.
