Re: Shawn Springs
I think SS is a great player but the one thing I question about him is his heart. If you see your team struggling (which is what the secondary is doing) than you do you best to get back, portis did it and Randy Thomas played the game against the jags with a hamstring injury, it was bad enough that he couldnt pull so they had to run plays where he didnt, but he was in there to get the job done. Gibbs and Co. want players that are team players and that will sacrifice for the team. Apparently he is not one of them, I am not advocating cutting him, he is a great player, but in the off season we need to look for a replacement since he is never healthy and Rogers is not a #1.

Re: Shawn Springs
Stack, you can't be serious. Springs is absolutely a team player. Heart? He re-injured the dang thing trying to come back early. So no, I wouldn't question his heart. In fact, I think Springs is one of the cornerstones (no pun intended) of the team. This is an injury if you're not 100%, no questions asked, you'll be back on IR quick. Ask Donovan McNabb.

Re: Shawn Springs
Are you kidding? Look at the facts Springs has only played 3 full seasons in his 10 year NFL career, he is constantly hurt. Champ who is considered one of the elite CBs in the league didnt miss a game for his first 6 seasons, he missed two last year, but has not missed one this year. We knew this when we got springs, there are players who play and there are players who sit on the sidelines. He is a premier CB when he is on the field, but unfortunatley he is not on the field all the time.

Re: Shawn Springs
No doubt we need help in the secondary. Rogers has to step up his play, and we have to keep getting a better pass rush on. If Carter and Co. can put some pressure on the QB, that will certainly help our secondary until Springs is back.

Re: Shawn Springs
Rogers improves every game but gave his man too deep a cushion in the Jags game. He's fast but not THAT fast.

Don't be a Homer, Hess It's Deangelo. Springs is not a superhuman but he is better than the alternative. Although Wright and Rumph look better, I don't know which I'd choose, they've both made decent plays, but probably the guy from the U.

I dont see that all, not even close. Deion was the master at side to side and stretch it out. Deion would never charge the line of scrimmage like Rogers b/c that would have to make him touch or tackle somebody and that could get his uniform dirty.
