Re: Let's talk beer
Also, I want to give a forewarning here before this thread turns into that ES thread over there where people give other people shit for what they drink.
It's not what you drink, it's the fact you hang out with people WHILE you do it. I won't deny my embarassed by my buddy (who's like 285 of solid muscle) who drinks daiquaris, but I don't give him shit about it.

Re: Let's talk beer
just some friendly ball busting...
college was an evolution for me. freshman year, it was Natty Light. Sophomore year, Beast Ice turned into Hard Cider. Junior year, 6 packs of imports on Thursdays turned into 30s of Miller Lite or Bud Light on Friday and Saturday. Senior year, whatever premium beer that was on sale at the local beer store (Cheers! was the store, Bass, Sam Adams, Heineken, etc were the beers) that week was what we drank. when Yuengling started distribution outside PA, we drank that until Salisbury had no more to sell. And now, i'll go to the bar, pick a draft and be content.

I remember when I used to think of Bud Light as "good beer," such innocent times.

Re: Let's talk beer
I think what I like about American beers is that they are more "crisp" than other ones. I love the flavor of other beers better, but when I drink I typically drink for refreshment and not taste.

Re: Let's talk beer
Good beer is a very subjective term. I consider anything that achieves the desired effect good beer. Tasty? No. Good? YES.

Re: Let's talk beer
I consider Guiness VERY tasty, but it's really weak at 4.2%.

In my older age I try to watch my carbs more, so that's why I lean towards the lite beers. Except when I'm drinking Guinness, but that's more carb and calorie friendly that alot of beers anyway. |

Re: Let's talk beer
That Michelob Ultra Amber is pretty tasty for "healthy" beers.
My favorite calorie-watching drink is vodka and soda with lime (gotta' be Grey Goose though).

Re: Let's talk beer
HAHA! What is it about certain liquors? That's how tequila and I are. Whenver tequila and I get together, it's always a disaster. Talk about BLACK OUTS! This is ONLY with tequila, but every time I get wasted on it, I wake up with shit written on me or somewhere I don't remember how I got. My last night in college senior week, I woke up in this chick I worked with's bed (not with her, she was sleeping on the couch).

Re: Let's talk beer
That and Patron are the nectar of Gods. I can NEVER, EVER afford it, but when a special occassion comes around, my parents will get it for me for Christmas or my birthday. Patron is the smoothest tequila ever created.
