Re: B. Lloyd Overrated?

I can't wait to draft VD this year for my fantasy league.I might have to use a third round pick on him just for the jokes.

"I got VD so fast that now I can't score." Needs work, but hey, at least I'm tryin'

I still think Randle El is better, but I sure as hell don't think Lloyd is overrated.
I think the article is suggesting that the Redskins overrated Lloyd--not the media. Personally, I'm more comfortable with the Redskins getting a player who they value high, instead of a player who the media values high.

Don't wait for someone else to get VD before you!

Re: B. Lloyd Overrated?

Being a Niners fan and having watched Brandon Lloyd throughout his career I would have to say he is going to be a productive but not great WR for your Redskins.

Lloyd is one of the best bad ball catchers in the NFL, (being all the ducks the Niners QBs have thrown) but he often loses his concetration on easy receiptions.

Do I feel he will make an impact in Washington? Yes, he will, but it won't be as big as the Redskins Front Office projected for him. I think he will be a solid #3 WR and that Randal-El will be the #2 WR.

Regardless of how Lloyd factors out, the fact that the Redskins have 3 mighty midgits at WR, a stud TE in Cooley and one of the 5 best RBs in the league in Portis makes this offense scary.

Now we have to hope Brunell (depending on health issues), or who ever is under helm, can consistently move the football and put points on the board.

Just my two cents!!

Edit: Randal-El will be the #2 WR, I mistakingly put #3 WR. Thanks for the heads up

Did you mean to say you believe Randle El will be the #2 WR?

Re: B. Lloyd Overrated?

competition can bring out the best in a player. sf had no talent at wr, so lloyd didnt have to put in the extra effort just to get some pt. here in washington we have alot of talent at wr and lloyd will have to earn his pt. he will learn from vets like moss, patten, thrash , and randle el and will learn what it takes to be a good wr and will be a good wr for many years to come. i have alot of confidence in gibbs and believe he can spot true talent behind some of the things that lloyd has been criticized for in the past such as his "lack of concentration". gibbs is a master motivator

Re: B. Lloyd Overrated?

i know that bryant has had 1000 yard rec. seasons. has lloyd? does anyone have a breakdown of lloyds nfl career? i would have to say right now, strictly on past production alone, i can see why people would try to make a case for bryant. but just like T.O., there is alot of extra baggage involved

No disrespect but you sound like everyone else. Do you understand we are not asking them to come in a be game breakers. We have 3 all ready. Moss, Portis, and cooley. they are pieces, compliments. The front office knows who the bread and butter is going to be. They (moss,el,lloyd) will compliment each other and take the double, sometimes triple teams off our #1 MOSS!! People need to understand El was brought in to add a demention much like he did in pittsburg. Lloyd will be asked to be the #2(probably). maybe 50 balls. I think he understands that. Cooley is going to be the #2 receiver in terms of catches, plus Portis will have more receptions this year than he has ever had. People need to ease up on the expectations that El and Lloyd are coming here to compete with Moss. They know their rolls, they know Moss is the MAN.

Re: B. Lloyd Overrated?

A pretty stupid article.

Incidently, I think Lloyd IS our #3 WR. Moss and EL are in front of him, IMO. Whatever. If we win, it's a good move. If not, the press gets to sh** on us some more. Yatta, yatta, yatta.

Re: B. Lloyd Overrated?

They are retarded. He was by far the best thing they had on offense. He had more than double the yardage receiving than any other player on his team. I looked this up months ago but there were only 4 players who did that last year and 3 of them had been in the pro bowl during the last 2 years, all except Lloyd. He did an amazing job with the opportunity he was given. I don't know what more he could do with the cast he had around him.

bryant has had better production than lloyd to this point. but the seperation between them isn't that great.

Re: B. Lloyd Overrated?

First step to the playoffs is winning the division. With that in mind it was an extremely intelligent move on behalf of the Redskins to pursue B.Lloyd.

In 2005, Lloyd tore up Dallas for 142 yards in week 3 against none other than Anthony Henry.

This had to be on the minds of the Redskins personnel staff when the went looking for Lloyd, and was probably a contributing factor.

Re: B. Lloyd Overrated?

I love how the article states that Bryant wasn't the best WR on the market. Not with Jurevicious and Randle El available. I think they are saying Randle El is potentially a better #1 WR, which must mean that the Redskins have two #1 receivers. YAY!
Of course, that's the author's opinion. I think Randle El is at best a #2 but still the article actually makes us look good.

They are obviously unfamiliar with Taylor Jacobs and Jimmy Farris.
