Re: Draft Grade?
True, even though I'd hope that Santana understands that it's still the game you play and Sean isn't going to hit you any lighter just because you're related to a teammate.

Re: Draft Grade?
The more time goes by, the more I like McIntosh. The only thing, I would be worried about is keeping him healthy, which the redskins have a little control over.

Re: Draft Grade?
Draft grades tend not to look at the whole picture. Some say we had no 3rd round pick. I say we used that pick to get Brandon Lloyd. Lloyd is only 24, he's locked in long-term here and he's a proven NFL receiver who can contribute right away. But when people grade the draft they don't count Brandon Lloyd. Just like they say we had no first round pick, but in fact our first rounder has been practicing and studying game film with the Redskins for a year now.

Re: Draft Grade?
Initially I liked the McIntosh pick. Then I didn't like it after I heard we traded a 2nd and a 6th to move up. Now, I think I need to wait to evaluate it until after we see him on the field. Yes, that makes me a "flip-flopper."
As for the whole draft. I'd give us a C- as a function of us not having many picks. I don't see how we could have a high grade without a 1st, 3rd, or 4th rounder. I think our offseason free agent acquisitions are much more meaningful than the draft and I think we all knew that before Saturday. |

Re: Draft Grade?
Good--put a chip on the shoulder of our rookies, our coaches, etc.
As a skins fan, you have to just foget about the national media. Whatever. Look, the draft is this crazy wild talking-head-fest that goes on for months on TV and the internet. But ANY look back at the realtionship between predicted success and actual success of these guys will show that the experts are at close to chance. A CHICKEN PECKING AT A COMPUTER COULD PREDICT AS WELL AS THE SO-CALLED EXPERTS. No, I don't have the stats to back this up, but it is a hunch. Why get worried about it? (Rant over...)

Re: Draft Grade?
For those that pay attention to such things: I have been listening to 980 most of the day (on line). They had Jaws on discussing the way the skins do things-draft. To paraphrase Jaws "the skins had a FANTASTIC offseason". The "NFC east is scared to death of what Joe Gibbs is doing".
I also listen to a Miami station (on the other coast). They had on Larry Michaels, being interviewed by O.J. Mcduffy. Larry gave a great interview. OJ and co-host could not give enough props to Macintosh. These guys follow the U heavily, and kept telling Larry how much the skins wold love this guy, and what a GREAT pick he was. I have more faith in guys like Jaws and Pros like Mcduffy who have had success, than Ninny, pine ridin' losers like Sean Salisbury
