I feel a whole lot better about making Arch the highest paid safety in football now, kinda like someone pulled my eyelid down over my chin. |

corner, yes definitley corner is the hardest PHYSICALLY position on the field. there the most athletic on the field, but mentally its one of the easiest. safety a little bit harder, you dont need to be AS physically gifted to be saftey, but its a little more mental work then corner, cause its not jst one on one for safeties they have to know who to pick up when in man whether the receiver, the tight end, the fullback or running back, they have to learn there covers and everything. but every position in football is as difficult as the next........for my high school i play, starting strong safety, #2 wide receiver, special teams, and the # 3 quarterback(randle-el type) i tried corner, not fast enough....and the easiest actually is receiver im a possesion receiver so i dnt have blazing speed

Hey D'Boyz-
I don't make fun of how fat and outta shape Roy WIlliams is. Him making the Pro Bowl was hilarious to me. Sure he'll hit someone or horse collar anyone anytime he can, but Brunell to Moss 2 times in less than 335 in the 4th during the ring of fame induction MNF game. I'm not worried about Archuleta, but if he remains on the team next season look for him to attend. Anyone who doesn't attend doesn't understand what it means to be a Redskin yet. Can't wait to see TO in a Dallas uni!!!

Re: Redskins | Archuleta working on his own
On the learning curve, Jordanz301 is right. Corner is more about ability than safety, but I'd rank safety up there with QB in terms of learning and responsibilities. I played both safety positions, CB, QB, WR (though not for long as I slowed up with age!) and TE. In terms of ability v. skill I'd say CB, WR and TE are more ability than skill, and vice versa for the others, though TE's do have to learn blocking schemes as well as pass routes, so in effect play 2 positions at once.
As to AA, the S position is often the defensive QB. He has to read the whole O and often adjust coverage calls on the fly. Something LB's don't do as a rule. Both safety positions have some responsibility in this, so I'm curious how AA and ST will function together - will GW have a hierachy based on position? Consequently I think it would have been better if AA was attending meetings etc. to get to know his D colleagues, especially the secondary. However, as various people have said, a) these are voluntary and b) they are 'only' conditioning workouts. Far more important is attendance when they actually get into coaching meetings and on the practice field. I keep thinking (especially after the hoo hah about ST) that voluntary workouts should be clearly defined as such (i.e. no stigma at all for not attending) or become mandatory so everyone know where they stand. I mean, if your boss told you they were having a charity event and helping out was entirely voluntary, then told you if you didn't go it would go down on your annual review, how would you feel? |

Besides, it's not the coaches that are complaining......it's us the fans. And, if 99% of all the other workers helped out at the "charity event", wouldn't they have a right to complain as well?

I'm sorry man but I'm not high on Archuletta he's a bad version of Roy Williams they both play close to the line and are better at middle range passes and run support but Archuletta doesn't make so many game changing plays and this might come as a surprise but he gets burned more than Williams. Really you'll need the chargers against Taylor get drop because you need him the hole season to cover Archuletas Ass. |

GW is going to use him as a 4th linebacker on a lot of plays, sending him to make kill shots on your statuesque QB.

Schneed10 say it best how Gregg williams is going to use Archulletta and try to use him at his best the bad thing is that he isn't really good at that either oh and last season I watch at least 8 games and I watched all your games last year I go to a sport book here in mex where they have 10 60inchs tvs where they play all the games at the same time also I have a variation of Tivo and I tape the cowboys games and the important games that week or next rivals so I can see how they're playing and what we did wrong. |
