Wasn't it "You are what you win"? In which case, we're the best team in the NFC East, even if we didn't get the conference championship. |

Re: Sean Salisbury SLAMS Redskins
What Sean Salisbury actually said was that we didn't have the offense to compete in the playoffs. Not that the team didn't belong there, but we didn't have the offense to compete.

That almost makes sense, until you consider it's defense that won the game for Seattle. It was defense that stopped the Patriots. And guess who won the game for the Steelers, against the most unstoppable offense in the history of the cosmos? Oh right, it was defense. And then there was the Bears-Panthers game, which was supposed to be a low-scoring defensive struggle to begin with, but the Bears vaunted defense crumbled. Of course it's not surprising that a has-been who really never was would be talking about offense instead of defense. He never figured out how to read a defense anyway. |

Re: Sean Salisbury SLAMS Redskins
I actually have to point out that I was referring to what he said on Sportscenter. I can't vouch for what he said on ESPN Radio, cause I didn't hear it, sorry for the confusion, I didn't pay enough attention to the first post.

Re: Sean Salisbury SLAMS Redskins
What I find so interesting with salisbury is when Dennis Green was hired as a head coach in Arizona he was asked to come aboard as a QB coach. He later turned it down to stay with ESPN and do his normal blah from his high horse that he sits on. His stats speak for them self that was well talked about on here. He beats up on Mark Clayton because thats the only one he can talk trash to. Im a new customer with Direct TV and have enjoyed the NFL network. No one likes the skins and there is only one reason thats Dan Snyder. People hated us as a team because we won. I want to know why nobody is giving Tony Dungy greif. He couldn't win in Tampa and he will never win in INDY!

Re: Sean Salisbury SLAMS Redskins
I wouldn't worry too much about Salisbury - he's a flash in the pan. Five years from now we'll be asking "Who was that jackass from ESPN who said he would walk naked to NYC if the Skins made the playoffs and then lied, claiming he never said it?".

Re: Sean Salisbury SLAMS Redskins
Salisbury is still mad that Joe Gibbs beat him in what I think was Salisbury's final playoff game, 24-7 on Jan. 2, 1993 at the Metrodome.

Re: Sean Salisbury SLAMS Redskins
I was watching ESPN News the other day and a 2 minute special w/ Dan Patrick and Sean Salisbury came on. They were to talk a little NFL, and Patrick proceded to introduce Salisbury as perrenial backup QB and MVP of the '89(?) CFL Gray Cup. Patrick kinda chuckled when he said that. Salisbury kinda laughed and asked why Dan always brought that up. Dan's response was, 'well, that's all you have on your resume sheet'.
Bah-zing! (Did I spell it right TAFKAS?)
