Our Draft picks are as follows.
2,3,5,6,6,7

Traded our 1 & 4 for Jason Campbell
Extra 6 for Rod Gardner

Good Link for Draft Info

Re: Draft Forum Now Open!

I wonder if we would trade our 2...or our 2 and 3 for a number 1?

While we're talking about wide receivers, what about about Moulds from Buffalo. I heard there's chance he'll be available. He's older but so was muhamad and smith.

Re: Draft Forum Now Open!

Wr or a consistent all around de are the 2 areas we need to address first and foremost. I think both could be addressed through free agency but de's r such huge hits or misses in the draft, I could see the skins only drafting a wr, special teamers who might be able to fill in on defense, and o-linemen.I'd still like to see the team draft a nice pass catching te who can block and I think the perfect choice if he fell to us would be Jeff King of VT. Anyone know if that mammoth of a te, from georgia I believe it is, is going into the draft?

I think we will get some of those compensation picks for the free agents we have lost.Maybe we will pick up a third or a fourth

B lloyd of the 49ers will be free too i think, and he can make some circus catches, but i've also seen him alligator arm some... either way he could be a pretty cheap #2 or #3.
I always thought of lloyd as the next 50/50. but then again there is only one 50/50

Re: Draft Forum Now Open!

I just read the other day that Anthony Fasano TE out of Notre Dame (junior i think) just declared for the draft. Does anyone know anything about him???

The reason i like the idea of getting a TE more than another wide receiver...is simply that i am not convinced that our current wide receivers are all that bad. They are not getting much production outside of moss...but i dont know...i really have a feeling that that is mostly because of the fact that Brunell is not looking to them.

That is not a knock on Brunell...cause he has done a bunch of other things really well...and has developed a tremendous rapport with cooley and moss. But i just dont think its worth going out and spending more on another wide out...cause i believe when our QB changes...either to PR or campbell we will see our current guys start producing a lot more. In addition, considering Brunell has a good chance of being the starter again next year...and seeing as how he likes to dump it off short if Moss isnt open, i think having a 2nd talented Tight end could do wonders for opening up our offense...whereas if Brunell is still the QB i dont see another number 2 or 3 receiver opening anything up more than TJ or Patten have been able to do.

even though it ain't gonna happen and it isn't a real need, wouldn't it be awesome to see a player like AJ Hawk of OSU in a skins uni?

Just for speculation...If the skins went WR, how about this guy from Notre Dame, Jeff Samardiza (spelling?). I don't follow that much college, but i think he is a jr and i don't know if he is going to declare for the draft. I want to say, he is about 6'6" and can fly. I've watched several ND games (since there on nbc) and he really seems like he has good/great hands and is ready for the next level. He would seem to me a great compliment to Moss and Patten. Any thoughts?
Samardzija is probably going to stay, he's a pitcher for ND college baseball and went 8-0, he has a career to decide this next coming year, but maurice stovall the other wr is also 6'5 and has good hands with enough speed. im a huge ND fan and we could really benefit off of some guys there. #9 tom zbikowski (SS) former boxer, #83 Jeff Samardzija 6'5" WR, Maurice Stovall 6'5" WR, Brady Quinn 6'4" QB (would be absolutely huge for us but dont see him coming here which breaks my heart: although he wont be drafted til next year) Anthony Fasano 6'5" TE (we have a great chance of getting him, can block, very shifty for a guy his weight and height with great hands,he could be an immediate impact over robert royal right away)

Re: Draft Forum Now Open!

I am a firm believer in drafting the best athlete available when it is our turn to draft. The only position we do not need is QB. But every other position we could use a body even if it is for a backup. Players get hurt all the time and good backups are important.
We need to draft and develop a CB. Carlos Roger is great, but Springs and Harris are getting old. Our defense is great because it can cover WR one on one.
Our need for a pass rush DE or WR are not desperate, would would be fine with what we have and by adding an inexpensive WR and pass rusking DE through free agency.
Koren Robinson intrigues me. For the right price, he might be a guy you take a chance on and sign to a modest contract. As he gets older he might get over his stupid ways. The guys is very talented.

he's crosseyed

I like Moulds and Jurevicius, we need more possession type receiver than speed. someone who can get us 10 yards on a consistant basis with cooley. the more underneath the more moss is one on one

Moulds is a no go, very expensive and OLD... moose was a better option and gibbs said no way to him (though he loved his play), so i don't think its even a posibility.

Re: Draft Forum Now Open!

I see where we need to draft a TE. Cooley is the ideal player for the h-back, which plays as TE. The true TE position in gibbs offense is used as an extra blocker and doesn't catch alot of balls. with sellers, royal, and the other guy cant remember his name(87) I think we are OK. We need to address the #2 WR spot, either FA or draft, preferably draft. The DE position is something I would address throught the draft, or w/ the trade involving Ramsey or using the draft pick we get for ramsey. You can draft a corner late 5th or 6th round, I would try and pick up a SS with some speed and size. I said earlier the guy from Notre Dame (#9). Clark is pretty good at run support, but is not all that good in coverage. If we could get a SS that can cover, Taylor could do alot more damage rushing the passer and run support.

Re: Draft Forum Now Open!

What's with the Notre Dame obsession? I'd like to see us take a DE at number 2, although I do agree that Maurice Stovall could be a very nice piece. Hopefully he falls to theh 3rd or 5th rounds.

WR is the weakest position in this year's draft. I've seen mention of Calvin Johnson. And yes, that dude is unbelievable. But he's going to be a top 5/top 10 pick in NEXT year's draft. He was only a sophomore and did not redshirt or attend prep school.

My vote for our first pick is a Defensive End. Actually, I like the Daryl Tapp pick in the mock draft at www.draftnotebook.com
