Re: How bout it Lavar

Maybe we gained some insight as to why GW normally pulls LaVar on 3rd downs??

Non-existent? Didn't he have 10 tackles, a deflection and a forced fumble and fumble recovery. And like JoeRedskin says the offsides on LaVar is a big deal. For one thing I believe it helped keep a Bucs drive alive that led to 3 points. And secondly, he was pumped up isn't that great an excuse. Who's not pumped up? If LaVar wants to be considered one of the best, one of the first things he has to work on is being consistenly solid, if not great.

Marcus wasn't the game? What do you mean? that other players played on defense - well of course. But MW has just as many tackles (including solos) as LaVar and was (in the words of the announcers) "a wrecking ball".

LA had a good game. Great interception. good presence. but sorry - play for play - MW is the best LB we got playing and it isn't even close. When lavar can play with MW's discipline and be trusted to play every down - then let's talk.

Again, I am not a Lavar hater - I think he's a freakish talent who can make game breaking plays. I also think he can be (and has) been a game breaker for the other team.

go ahead and delude yourself in your lavar worship but give props where they are due.

Dude, that's a total LaVar homer comment.

Get off his sack, jeez.

MW was all over the place and had just as many tackles.

Re: How bout it Lavar

Im felt so good for Lavar he has been fun to watch all these years when we were not that good. It felt good to see him in the interview enjoying himself in the playoffs espically after how this year stated.
With that said I still think that they will release him. I hope not but the NFL is a cold business.

Re: How bout it Lavar

Lavar palyed a fine game. Whether or not he's back next year is another question. As a fan, I'm willing to pretend he's Mr. Redskin for 3 more games. I think he could be huge against Seattle next week. For now he's our guy. We should get behind him 100% and leave any negative discusions for the long boring offseason. There will be plenty of time for it then.

By the way, some have fairly asked why Lavar has a special place for Redskins fans. I don't know that I am in that category, but I was at FedEx Field in October of 2001 when the Redskins were abou to go 0-6. I was sitting there bitching and moaning when Lavar singlehandedly lifted that team on his shoulders and they won the game. I kind of understand what he means when he says loyalty is a two way street.

Anyways he'll get my love the rest of this year, then it's all business.

Coming from one of Lavar's biggest fans, I'd say Marcus Washington is the heart of this defense without hesitation. Best FA acquisition (alongside GW and Griffin) of the past few years.

Re: How bout it Lavar

Marcus without a doubt, WITHOUT A DOUBT, outplayed Lavar today, he is by far our best LB, Lavar made 1 big play, and that was the INT, and the pepsi machine could have made that one, a deflected pass right into his sturnum real tough, he also looked like he was running in slow motion for the end zone.

Where's the big time pass rush? Where's the big play ability? I am glad he made that INT but lets be realistic, just about anyone on this site could have made that play, he was just in the right place at the right time, not a common occurance for Lavar.

Lavar doesn't sack the QB, he doesn't even pressure him, he's supposed to be a difference maker, HE'S NOT!

Marcus turned in the play of the game on the 4th and 1 in the red zone late in the game, he forced Simms to throw an incomplete pass, that was the play that turned the momentum for us. [the dropped pass in the end zone was the biggest turning point but we didn't create that, tampa shot themselves in the foot]

Re: How bout it Lavar

To be fair offiss the pick that MW caught was a tip very similar to LaVar's.

They both played great and were all over the field. Our LB crew was outstanding tonight.

Yo Beat, I was told about a place called Joxer Daly's a few blocks from where i live in west la (near culver city)... Coincidentally, I got a philly from a joint adjacent to Joxer's after the game today... I ran into a bunch of Skins fans in the shop, and they told me it is THE skins' bar in LA. I was told it seemed like a few hundred fans were there and it felt like Virginia all over again.

I'm thinking about going there for the Hawks' game next weekend- you down?

Totally agree, it's also why I didn't include it, lol.

Realisticly Washington is all over the place, he alway's seems to be in the right place at the right time.

That fumble recovery and return where he fumbled so Taylor could recover for a TD was an absolute stroke of brilliance.

Re: How bout it Lavar

Washington is absolutely our defensive MVP. He was all over the field and has been a beast all season. Lavar played well but he honsestly did fumble that pick back to the Bucs though. I think that's why he was a bit sheepish in the postgame interview--he knew he was lucky! A microcosm of today's game if you ask me. Better to be lucky (and win) than be good...
