I remember that Smith got banged up last week or a couple weeks ago.
I respect John Keim but I don't consider Smith getting beat in practice by Kerrigan and Wilson reason enough to explain why he isn't at least in competition for the back-up LT spot.
I'm sure every OL has been beat more then a few times in practice.

If Smith is healthy, I expect him to play around the same level he played last year when he played equally as well at LT as Polumbus played at RT.
I wasn't talking about Keim's take, I was just saying in general perhaps we were expecting too much out of Smith. Truth is he was an UDFA and is still a work in progress.

My bad dude, now that I look at it my post is more a response to Keim's statements then a response to your post.

I should just e-mail Keim because I don't understand his take on Willie Smith and I want to.

Imo Smith should be as important a piece of our OL picture as Polumbus.

Yeah he got banged up a couple of weeks ago when he got abused by Rob Jackson.

Rob Jackson seems to be a monster. Is there any way that we can trade him for a pick given that he is in the last year of his contract (and he'd probably go to a place where he has a better chance to be a starter)?

I know right? I've always been a fan of Rob Jackson.
I wish we could have found a way to get him on the field more with Orakpo and Kerrigan.
I wonder what his trade value would be?
I don't think he plays enough league wide cache.

If this Chris Campbell can wrestle and play volleyball he can't be all bad. He may be a good player and offer quality depth. Also I'm hoping Compton can show his skills and be an option at RT. Moves well for a RT.

Is there any word if we still intend to cut Jam Brown when he is healthy again?

Jammal Brown's status and his salary cap cost - Washington Times

It's not a clear cut decision

^^ What a poorly structured contract for an older player with injury history. If I was one of the younger lineman working hard for a spot and making peanuts compared to Brown I'd be pissed.

Maybe this is why only he did "yoga" in the offseason. I would do yoga if I knew I was 31 years old, had limited time in the league, and had 4-5 million dollars coming my way regardless.

Lots of yoga.
