Rumor has been 6

As for Austin, I have heard some speculation out of Redskins Park the last few months that a big, big reason the Redskins let Keenan McCardell go was that they felt he did a poor job developing Austin.

I was also going to throw those names out there. D hall is mOre than capable of returning punts but I doubt he does kickoffs. I remember reading an article about minniefield returnin kicks for a few years at UVA. The more I read about him the more I like what he brings to the table. I hope he turns into a solid corner, we need all the help back there we can get.

Paul is TE now...

I'd go with

Moss
Hankerson
Garcon
Morgan
Armstrong
Austin or Robinson

Was hoping Austin would be further along by now... wouldnt be surprised if the McCardell thing was true. Also wouldnt be surprised if in his limited action whoever was qbing didnt really look his way.

Why?

Sorry, I just have never been a Banks enthusiast - for all the reasons others have already stated. I am sure he's a great kid and, yes, he has some speed. As Matty indicated, however, he's a one-trick pony even in the return game. He's never struck me as "elusive" - if there's no seam, there's no return. As much as people want him to be, he's just not that special.

I think the sixth spot will be a pretty open competition between Austin & Robinson. If it's close, they may give it Austin and stash Robinson on the PS for another year.

This was a pretty good article on Banks' role with the team: http://www.sportsmedia101.com/washin...e-2012-roster/

I think he needed to be called out by Shanahan because his performance simply isn't cutting it. Honestly it's just plain disappointing to see his inability to consistently play up to his obvious potential. I'm not sure what it's going to take to get him playing the way he should be...

I just wish Danny Smith would teach the guys how to block on extra points and field goals

IMO

Garcon
Moss
Hankerson
Morgan
Austin

If Robinson can go on PS then AA makes it.

Chase did kicks and punts for a few years. He's a baller, and I see him as the number 3 CB by the end of this season.

Completely unbiased of course.

Yeah, still love that touchdown against the Lions in 2008.

I agree Moss is not the guy now. If not Banks, how about Paul? He's shown some amazing speed on special teams.
