Dogfish Head 60 is an excellent beer.

I like a DC/Baltimore area brewery called Clipper City. They make some great beers. My personal favorite is of theirs is called "Small Craft Warning." It's a malty, bock style lager. Excellent. The "Loose Cannon Ale" is great too.

Check 'em out and all you DC/Baltimore folks- support your local brewers!
Hail Beer! (And Skins of course).

I tried a sixer of the 60 minute last weekend and I was really impressed. I'll be hitting that up again no doubt.

Sounds like you're ready for a transition to the 90 minute. Alcohol content is around 9%, similar to a Chimay triple. It's an IPA, but obviously bold due to alcohol content. The whole 60-90 minute thing has to do with a stage of the brewing process. The longer it's left in a certain stage, the higher the fermentation rate, thus higher alcohol %. That's why the 90 is so strong.

A buddy of mine has been on the Clipper City Brewery tour...I may have to check it out.

As far as Dogfish Head is concerned, if you get a chance, either take the tour (crash on Brud's couch...his family won't mind) or hit up their Alehouses in Gaithersburg or Falls Church (Seven Corners). The food is quite good, and getting their beer on tap is incredible.

I used to live right down the street from the G'burg one, and was up there pretty often. Not sure if they still do it, but I used to get their 75 Minute IPA...half 60 Minute and half 90 Minute. And for those not ready to be adventurous, try their Lawnmower Light (only available on Tap at their locations). A great way to ease yourself into their beer selection.

I picked up a sixer of this last night, very good stuff

TOASTED LAGER

Blue Point Brewing's award-winning Toasted Lager is our flagship product. Copper in color this brew is made from six different malts including: English Pale, Crystal, Munich, Carapils, Wheat and Belgian Caravienna. Toasted Lager displays a balanced flavor of malt and hop which makes for easy drinking. Special lager yeast is used to produce that long lasting, smooth finish. The "toasted" part of the name refers to our direct-fire brew kettle’s hot flames that impart a toasted flavor to our most popular microbrew.

I tried a bottle of the 120 minute IPA last night and let me tell you, one bottle and I was good for the night. It has something like 21% alcohol and this thing knocked my socks off. I think I drank it a little too quick though. It's definitely one you'll want to sip on.

Probably made 30 Rock a little more entertaining.

That's funny - when you order it in the restaurant, you get about 3 ounces in a brandy snifter. You power bombed about 4 beers.

The Delerium Tremens is fantastic, but at $19 per four-pack, it's reserved for a special occasion.

True, but seeing how strong it is you shouldn't need more than a four pack. The ones I bought were as big as wine bottles for about ($3.00) a pop. I haven't drank in a long time so I can only imagine how expenisve they are now.
