Interesting. How about Rutgers going to the Big 10 too? Wish the ACC had grabbed them first.

Can't believe Notre Dame didn't go to the big 10 instead.

Seems that the Big Ten is really gaining up there. And has is thriving with getting teams like Maryland!

Well at this point Louisville basketball and football programs are well ahead of Marylands'. Strange heard Louisville is having a lil money problems is coming to the ACC, but that was the reason Maryland left...

ACC votes to add Louisville Cardinals, source says - ESPN

I'd say that the ACC actually upgraded by losing Maryland and gaining Louisville. Huge upgrade actually.

How is it that a small school like ECU doesn't have the type of financial issues that Maryland has? Like my father always said, if you can't afford it, don't spend it.

Debbie Yow and a lot of people at Maryland got too greedy and tried to cash in on the limited success of the football team (and up to a certain point basketball).

Tulane to the Big East!!! That's the story we should be talking about! Oh yeah, my would-be alma matter (technically Maryland falls into that category too) is moving on from Conference USA; and not a moment too soon, they're going to...still suck at athletics(?) in the Big East

Why is ECU only in the Big East as football only?
