Re: Stifling States of America: Heat Wave!
Yeah, if i survive this fishing trip in the heat, i might be fished out for awhile. Bay fishing is good stuff, havent been in a couple years. Also fishing for some of these southern va redneck girls...south boston sounds like it could have potential

I offered. I think it would be fun to get several people who post here to get together and go fishing one day. |

Child's play, I tell ya! Come out west to the desert. We saw a few 118 days already. today was 111 with 50% humidity. I would LOVE a crisp 105! :FIREdevil

Re: Stifling States of America: Heat Wave!
Today in DC the moment you stepped outside it felt like getting slapped in the face with a scalding wet towel. Just brutal. And tomorrow and Saturday will be worse than today.

Re: Stifling States of America: Heat Wave!
Well, the heat index in DC tomorrow is about 12 degrees higher than in the Phoenix area. Just saying. 117 is nothing to sneeze at. Plus we're higher than 50% humidity. Child's play it is not.

Re: Stifling States of America: Heat Wave!
My family from south Alabama reguarly experience heat much higher than this, but the difference is that they don't have the high humidity like we always have around here. My friend from College was from Arizona. He said 110 was nothing because it was so dry. Also some nights people would run their fireplaces/heat because it would get so cold at night. Crazy....

At the same time, 111 is hot no matter how you cut it. One of the commentaries I saw was that, although the heat was essentially the same throughout the affected area, the danger was highest in those areas where the temps were high above norms (think S. Dakota at 100 degrees for example). No matter how you cut it. It's f'ing hot. Right now, it's 7:00 a.m., 90 degrees, with 65% humidity and a heat index of 101. It's going to be ugly today folks.

Re: Stifling States of America: Heat Wave!
Correction: The humidity at 7:00 for BWI was 80% and at Dulles 90%
It's like swimming in boiling water.

At the moment, technically, I think we are being subjected to Global Broiling.
