Gameday

He was extremely unlucky that djax took away a td. Plus a couple drops. That being said it was not his best game by any means. He was definitely a little off on a handful of throws. Oh well. He is still a great young qb and now we need to fix the D. The future is bright. HTTR!

Yeah, but for some reason it felt like he was out of the game a lot. For a while there I was wondering if he was hurt...if he wasn't, I don't get it.

I have to admit, I was real disappointed that we couldn't take advantage of their secondary. They got to KC a few times, but mostly I thought he had plenty of time. It seemed like he got a little rattled as the second half progressed...throwing off his back foot a lot, not getting the ball out quickly...just less accurate than he has been in recent weeks.

That being said, KC is the definition of "a student of the game". He will learn from this game and come back strong next year.

The defense disappeared in the second half. Credit Rodgers, because he is one of the best all time, but when I looked up and saw Cary Williams, Quinton Dunbar, and Will Blackmon as the three corners...I'm like ruh-roh, this isn't going to end well.

It's been a while since I felt this much optimism going into the offseason. This team is truly headed in the right direction.

Re: Gameday

As the OL goes so does the QB. Rogers is a perfect example, his OL did a great job. Today was a bad performance by our OL (allowed at least 5 sacks) that's why Cousins struggled.

Re: Gameday

I'm not even mad with the Packers, I've never had any hate towards them (except for today ) and I dislike the Panthers/Seahawks so I'm probably going to root for the Packers/Cardinals to go all the way this year. Aaron Rodgers has always been a good qb and today was the result of a lot of factors, but the biggest one is they did their jobs and we didn't. Overall I'm happy that we made progress this year, advancing would've been nice but I didn't believe we'd be able to get past a team like the Seahawks or Panthers. I can't wait to see the improvements McC makes this offseason, I definitely expect them to build off this year.

Boy did Trent Williams have a bad day. I don't recall ever seeing him get beat as often as in that game.

Re: Gameday

I thought the O line looked terrible and the D couldn't stop GB when they really needed to. I really thought this game was winnable but obviously GB was the better team. The Skins had a good year but they definitely have room to improve.

Re: Gameday

I believe trent gave up 2 sacks yesterday and he only gave up 2 the whole yr. It happens we had a good run but we all knew it was ending at some point.

I always see him have trouble with speed rushers. It's those little guys that give him fits. I remember Trent Cole always having success against him.

Re: Gameday

sacks - at least 2 seemed to be coverage sacks where kirk hesitated from not liking what he was seeing. they were relatively quick coverage sacks.

imo the packers won this game monday through friday when they game planned us on offense and defense.

packs offense - they took what we gave them and it seemed to be 3rd and 1 many times for them. death by a thousand paper cuts. with culliver out and hall moved to safety, blakcmon/dunbar are easy targets for a guy like Rodgers when there is no pass rush or pressure (1 sack, 3 qb hits). the packers also ran it effectively. doing enough different looks to keep us off balanced (cobb had 5 runs).

packs defense - tip the cap to capers. normally kirk is good at deciding who is primary receiver is pre-snap and, if that doesnt work, he can find his secondary guy. last night, it seemed like cousins wasnt seeing the field and the packers did a great job of getting pressure while rushing 5.

we just got out game-planned. the kirk TD run was the only wrinkle i saw in play calling where he kept it instead of looking bubble left or reed solo right. it seemed like we were trying to beat them on these medium to deep routes every single drop back. by the 4th quarter, the wheels just came off.

mike mccarthy and capers > gruden/mcvay and barry.

its like our guys werent prepared to see what they saw.

Re: Gameday

That fumble by Cousins was the turning point. We were marching down the filed and would have scored. It went downhill pretty fast after that.

Re: Gameday

What was most frustrating about yesterday was Joe Barry. He seems to be too bland of a DC for my taste. He literally did nothing to try and get a pass rush on AR, couldn't get pressure w/ 4 and he sent no blitzes. He called the game like he was defending Kellen Moore.

Also did they prepare at all for that hurry up? AR got us a few times with 12 men on the field. They were not prepared for that. Bottom line was Joe Barry was piss poor. After seeing him for an entire year, he's an average NFL DC.

I'd also say when they started pressuring KC, Gruden needed to try and protect better with his formations. He left KC in too many empty sets and GB took advantage of it.

Yeah that was a back breaker. I think that play was more on KC. He needed to do a better job feeling the pressure and either tried to step up and avoid that or just get rid of it.

It was a very RG3 type error.
